Maths Tutor

I cannot think of too many adjectives to express my appreciation of this amazing (and very modest) man! Maths smart (of course), Paul Courtney has a caring and attentive approach to maths support that two of my boys have experienced and enjoyed over the last 6 years (at GCSE and then, for both, at A level). I first came across Paul via glowing recommendation from 3 of my colleagues. One (a statistician) had worked with Paul at a local University, the other 2 felt Paul's teaching was the only reason their children (2 girls and a boy) had passed maths GCSE at all. I have looked back over the email from 2010 and my colleague's observation remains true: 'He is very patient and knowledgeable....and he didn't mind me sitting in for the hour because I was living in Haywards Heath at that time, so it was not worth my while to leave my daughter there....'. One extra observation (extremely important in these sometimes worrying times), Paul is CRB checked and has very clear boundaries in terms of safeguarding children. He welcomed me 'sitting in' whilst my boys were younger than 16 and has always emailed me (rather than contacting them directly) with homework suggestions etc. In short Paul Courtney is a very good (as well as very clever) man!

Thoroughly professional, intelligent, calm and thoughtful with a student focused approach which ensures that the student thrives. Working at the student's pace Paul inspires to deeper knowledge and achievement of higher than expected grades. Personable and considerate in manner. Paul offers much in the way of support and guidance for the student.
