Overall I met a lovely psychotherapist. She was polite and she walked me through basic therapy. Ultimately we had communication issues and couldn't make it work, but she referred me to the psychiatrist. After meeting him and speaking to him about my issues and communication needs we pretty much sorted out how to address my therapy going forward. He was very polite and patient.Every single staff member has been wonderful except for one therapist. Clearly there are issues with funding and short-staffing, but that's hardly their fault. I can definitely see how people can have issues with difficulty accessing therapy if traditional CBT didn't work, but definitely keep trying to get through, just don't take your anger out on them.I'd definitely still suggest going private if you have the money and need long-term specialised health care such as DBT or extensive trauma therapy as it would simply be more efficient. If you're looking to work through some shorter-term issues, or know what you need definitely push through this system and get seen as you can be treated, or at the very least identify issues to work on further.Anyway end of rant, but thank you to the staff here for the flexible help. They do a very good job despite constraints and are trying to adapt to what people need. The biggest issue is they are forced to put you in to a little box. If you cannot get what help you need within 7 sessions (for example) then they don't know what to do with you as you don't fit in to their given timeframe and can't help you. This is a massive oversight and leaves a lot of people without access to care. Even if they desperately need it. This is something that is less the fault of this clinic and more due to the chronic underfunding of mental health within the NHS by the government.

definitely the worst mental health service i've ever been to. imagine being on the waiting list for two years for a therapist then being discharged with no help to go anywhere else. take a long hard look because this service is the definition of conservative cuts in the NHS. there is no mental health support in norfolk.. im afraid, whoever is reading this.. trust me i've tried everywhere. i feel sorry for everyone in this county if you're mentally ill and young you might have to move to another county to get any help. or be on the waiting list for years and years for a service that doesn't actually exist.shocked and deeply disappointed and left with no helpunbelievably awful, something needs to change drastically with norfolk mental health help

Staff are really friendly on the waiting list for 3 years tho besides being in and out of hospital for sucide attempts find the psychsttists wrap up the calls as soon as your getting to your point :( made me feel worthless and that I wasn’t worth helping due to the 3 yr wait but they’re stretched for staff I guess

6+ years later and still no treatment. Ignores calls from social services about incidents and the police too. Grossly incompetent team. Honestly, do probono therapy. It's your best (and probably only) option to get help.

Had an assessment on the phone and it was absolutely shocking. Idk how these people were hired, they have no idea about mental health it seems, and sounds like they’re reading from a text book.Tell me how you have an ‘urgent’ assessment and then don’t hear from them for weeks. Honestly do not get into this mess, your gp won’t do anything once under them and other services may not help because you’re under them, all while CMHT that you’re suppose to be ‘under’ will not contact you. If you’re suicidal, be prepared to be pushed to the edge and come out worse than you were. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU. I will probs end up taking my life soon, I basically begged for help…. Help didn’t come. So I’m trying it by myself and if I can’t take it then I’m gone.

Visited with my partner for the first time yesterday and I've got to say the service we received was absolutely fantastic! I can't fault the lady we saw. She was very thorough and so caring towards him. I sadly didn't catch her name but she is a real credit to your team.

I’ve been with 80st Stephens for about 7-8 years now and honestly I’ve only gotten worse. I am currently being held in a 136 suite after begging my care co and psychologist for months to be put back as an informal inpatient as I don’t feel I’m able to keep myself safe at all out in the community but yet again was ignored. I’ve seen staff come and go over the years and have probably seen over 20 different people, all of which have paid no attention to me other than my first ever care co and an OT.

Totally useless. Don't even bother. They're patronising and do quite the opposite of helping young people. Whilst I appreciate their under-resourced it is no excuse for their attitude, lack of empathy and understanding. My child got told there's nothing wrong with you" when there clearly is."

On the waiting list for 2+ years to then be told I can't be seen by anyone and discharged and left with nothing. Worst mental health service I've ever been to don't bother with this it will just make you feel much much much worse in the end. Read the other reviews.......

I couldn't of been happier with the help I recieved from not only 80 st Stephens but from the wellbeing service these people are under alot of pressure and dont get enough credit for what they do without them I can safely say I wouldn't be alive today! With their support and my attitude of no one can do this journey for me I was able to be discharged half way through last year after a couple of years.I still have my wobbles and bad days but I can live and deal with emotions without going down the slippery road. I honestly couldn't thank them enough and wish all of them the very best!
