Pennington Flash Car Park

£2.50 to park. Nightmare one way round to get on and out. The place itself is beautiful but it feels like they’ve conspired to make getting in and out as awkward as possible. No free parking for blue badge holders and you’d have to walk to the kiosk to buy a ticket, walk back to your car to display it. The operators really don’t concern themselves with convenience

Fun walk , picturesque and lots of wild life.There’s a fab little cafe that has tasty food and and ice cream. £2.50 for all day parking ,great day out for everyone.

A local beauty spot on the doorstep, whether you like walking,birdwatching or just relaxing having a picnic with the family. Also you can watch the Sailing Dingy’s across the water. I walk it from Lowton.

A really nice retreat away from the usual hustle & bustle, just a stones throw outside of Leigh. The pay & display machines on the car park can be a little troublesome if you don't read the instructions properly, but well worth the quid or so for parking. We visit this venue quite often.

Parked here today, big car park, but can get busy at weekend. £1.50 for the day and the ticket machine just took card payment.

This is a great nature reserve, well laid out walkways that lead to the canal. Hides galore for bird watching, beautiful scenery while walking along the canal with Leigh in one direction and the Marina at Plank Lane in the other. There's a reasonable playground for the children and a large playing field for the older ones to play football. Cafe and toilets are in the process of being renovated so not in use yet but fingers crossed will be finished soon. The car park is very large and parking is £1.50 from dawn till dusk. Payment is by card only.Right on the car park is access for the geese to the large lake, they are reasonable friendly and like to greet the visitors. Take a picnic and enjoy a lovely day out.

The access road is tricky and narrow. Work is going on to add ANPR parking with a barrier and pay machines. Electric car charge points are also being installed. Plenty of parking space once you are in. Needs the access road widening to give it easy access.

We have been going there for years its a great place to take your dog for a walk.You can spend hours just walking. But if I where you I would take a flask of tea or coffee and some sandwiches as the prices in the new cafe they have built are very high if you want a ice cream its over £3 for one scoop what a RIP off . But it's a good place for a walk just remember your flask.
