We broke down on the A24 going to Gatwick Airport early in the morning when it was raining very hard. The car was in a dangerous position but within minutes a police car from Sussex Police arrived crewed by PCs David Quayle and Peter Kingfisher who we believe were stationed at HorsThey ensured that we and the car were safe, made sure we were as comfortable as possible, and stayed with us until the recovery vehicle arrived. At a time when the Police receive so much unwarrented adverse publicity it is a pleasure to put on record what an excellant job they do.These two officers, were excellant ambassadors for your force and the police in general. Our sincere thanks.

Two burly policemen rang the door bell at 10 p.m. looking to confirm that my daughter would attend a Scottish court as a witness in about five weeks time. No proof of ID shown. At the time I was too shocked to be angry but have to say this is totally unacceptable .

Incident Reference:- 80. We in Sussex must be grateful for the dedication of our police Force. They are a fine example to all the citizens living in Sussex. I am extremely grateful for their help and caring methods of operation. THANK YOU.

Dear Chief Constable:On a recent trip to your country from Canada---I had the experience of dealing with one of your officers. This will be a most memorable time on my stay there. I was faced with a dilemma of trying to recover a medical device that we had left on our aircraft at time of arrival. I had called the airline and was informed that it was indeed there at the Lost and Found. My wife was very ill and I had to retrieve this unit and made my way back to Gatwick Airport. Being disabled was hindering my efforts in tying to find the Lost and Found area. I approached Const. PCSO Richard Griffith to see if he could point out the way for me. He said sure come with me and guided me right to the L&F. As I was using my walker he asked me where I would like to go. I said I would like to catch a bus back to the hotel we were were staying at. He grabbed the device and said follow me. He took me up to the bus stop and made sure it was the correct bus. I considered giving him a tip and thought better of doing that as at one point in my life- I too was a police officer. This officer went way beyond the call of duty and I cant Thank him or your department enough. From a very grateful Canadian I owe you fellows one.Cheers Mr. Keith William Skead.

My confidence that Sussex Police will stand up for victims of crime is non existant. The service they 'provide' is appalling.

The Chief Constable - Giles York feels really sorry for the couple who were held for 36 hours over the Gatwick Airport drones chaos" - BUT he was "convinced the grounds for the arrest were well founded". EITHER he feels sorry for the arrests or he's convinced there were grounds to arrest WHICH IS IT? Typical police double speak just like the whole establishment they WON'T admit they get it wrong without some little rider on the end"
