I had intermittent distortion on my Taylor nylon and very low output on my Tele neck pickup.I dropped the guitars off last Friday and they were both repaired and fully working and ready to collect by Tuesday morning.Leighton is a lovely man, passionate about what he does and always seems go that extra mile.I can't speak highly enough of Leighton Guitars. He has serviced and repaired other guitars of mine and the turnaround times, quality of workmanship and reasonable costs are all without fault.As another reviewer has already mentioned, this business is worth 10 stars and I would recommend you check him out if you have need of his services.

Brilliant service from Leighton at a great price. My acoustic guitar went from barely playable to can’t put it down after a set up. Can’t recommend him enough

I took in a 2010 Brian May Guitars Red Special for a MOT to fix" an MOT that was done elsewhere on it a few years ago. It has sounded quite "muddy" since then so I wanted to see if it could be given a proper treatment.I've dabbled with the guitar for about 20 years but am still very much an amateur

Laying on my bed one night, I dreamt up my ideal guitar which was Roy Buchanan's Telecaster with a 64' Strat neck. Checked out a few people who could possibly bring it to life, none were up to scratch or obviously to contact fender would be £££. Stumbled across Leighton's Guitars and threw my idea out, not only was it met with paralleled enthusiasm but as we discussed it, Leighton added and refined the idea to conceptualize a guitar better than I could have ever dreamt up i.e. Custom built Evil Sheep pickups. To hold & play a guitar that you've collaboratively created for under £1,000 is nothing less than every guitarists dream and to be honest, felt too good to be true until I played it. Unique sound - really toppy & sharp or warm and bright with a flick of the pickup switch, resonates better than any telecaster I've ever played & fits my play-ability and style perfectly as it was created with such a personal touch.Any guitarist reading this - think about it, a 52' reissue telecaster that is mediocre at best is £1,300 or get to be part of the creative process & create a guitar that is double the quality for half the price? Just makes sense. Also comes with a booklet that step by step shows how it was built, where the wood came from etc. Honestly, couldnt ask for more.Had my John Mayer Strat set-up for £37 & i didn't realize how out it was in terms of action, had it back a few days later - probably better than when I bought it. Turn around time was a day or two.Leighton is a lovely man, knowledgeable, passionate & really does go that extra mile.I can't speak highly enough of Leighton Guitars, if I could give 10 stars I would & more of the guitar community should know about this company.

I've taken a few guitars to Leighton now. The diagnostic alone is incredibly thorough. The work itself is great, done properly to a great standard. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Very positive experience. Leighton sorted out a tricky problem for me, quickly, with the minimum of fuss, at very a keen price. The claims in similar reviews that he goes above and beyond the fee he charges, I can confirm are in fact true - he made my archtop play as good as new, cleaning years of nicotine off of it for free without ruining the finish - thank you Leighton! - A very competent and conscientious tech and a thoroughly nice chap to boot!. Highly recommended :0)

You will not find anywhere better then Leighton’s. The work is above and beyond. All my guitars go to Leighton and come back better. The work is so good that I will be having one built by Leighton’s in the new year.

Leighton is probably the most knowledgeable guitar person I have ever met. I had 2 Chinese made telecaster type guitars which had annoying play-ability issues to the extent that they were permanently stored in my attic! . On the recommendation of a local guitar retailer I took them to Leighton. On presenting them to Leighton he quickly identified that the issues were due to bad cut nuts and some high frets and some with flattish instead of nicely rounded tops. After he had worked his magic the transformation was incredible on both guitars .They are now played regularly....in fact the 3 pup one is now one of my go to's.Excellent turn around time of around 48 hours. Very friendly guy to deal with and very reasonable charges . Could not recommend him more.
