Vanderpump and Sykes Solicitors

Severely unimpressed with the service provided. I waited months before the matter started progressing and had to complain in order to get better service. My allocated solicitor would have annual leave with no oo emails. Continuously ask me for documents I previously sent. When sent a completion statement, there was no explanation of what the costs were etc. A very horrendous experience. I will not be using ever again !

I had a meeting with James Porter about my commercial company’s issues.He then went on holiday.No contact since phoned 7 times left messages with everyone, sent emails nothing, no replies at all, he wasted my time talks the talk but can’t walk the walk.Very unprofessional treatment and I cannot recommend.

Avoid at all costs! Utterly appalling, this is the worst law firm we have ever dealt with and was a traumatic experience. The service was extremely poor, and the solicitor made repeated errors during the process which we needed to do her job to check all legal documents to rectify her mistakes, bad communication, withheld the key document/information without passing to us until we found out, etc. Refused to follow their own complaint procedure, and deliberately sent the correspondence to the old wrong address which resulted in us not knowing a CCJ being issued under our names, while the complaint was still pending! Unprofessional solicitors full of lies, all they want is your money without any duty care. We have escalated them to the Legal Ombudsman who ruled that there has been some unreasonable service from Vanderpump that requires remedy. Do not recommend to anyone!

A company who allows its employees to represent friends. Send emails suggesting legal action and then go completely quiet when challenged. Solicitors refuse to reply to emails questioning if cases against individuals are still open and comment on specifics completely unrelated to active cases. Poor communication.

I could not recommend V&S any more highly if I tried. I've heard plenty of horror stories regarding solicitors but I've now used V&S for three house moves and they couldn't have been more helpful. Particularly Georgia and Maria who, between the two of them, have sped up both the sale of my previous property and purchase of my new property to an unexpectedly impressive pace. They are always attentive and helpful with queries. And their ability to put legal jargon into understandable terms for the lay-person makes all the difference.

I am so grateful to Mark Heselton for representing me in my divorce & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to friends or family. He was so professional, understanding & is a great family lawyer. He took his time to explain the extremely daunting process thoroughly, during my initial consultation. He kept me up to date with how things were progressing and although it was a stressful time, because of Mark's professionalism, I felt reassured that things would work out ok. I am happy & relieved to say that my decree absolute is through and the settlement is better that I could have hoped for.

As with other people who have left reviews, it is impossible to get updates and you are often left in the dark. Underhanded communication from the Finance team has also caused additional stress on an already stressful situation. Would not recommend.

Just bought a house in Essex using Vanderpump and Sykes as our solicitors. From our first viewing of the house to completion took 12 weeks. We were first time buyers and so had no idea what we needed to do, but with Natalie Amir and her extremely efficient team, we were guided through the process with relatively little stress. They were friendly and approachable on the phone. I feel the costs were reasonable and would definitely recommend their services to friends and family.

Big thanks to Vanderpump, Richard Stephens assisted me with an employment matter, he was precise, informative, professional and a really nice individual. I left appreciative and will certainly not hesitate to do business with him again in the future, cheers!
