Great time at Alston Observatory opening evening. We used their state of the art telescope, learned about various different star systems, saw the old telescopes they have and also used the planetarium. Would recommend.

A fantastic visit organised by my son's beaver group. We got to look at the moon and Jupiter through the telescope and then had a great session with Mark who went through so much information it was great children and parents throughly enjoyed it.

The kids found out lots about space. They have a really big new telescope that takes fantastic images of the moon etc. The children were also very interested in the very old telescope. The astronomer was very knowledgeable.

Very knowledgeable talk, good presentations and equipment, we couldn't view anything outside as it was cloudy but good night nonetheless

A great addition to UCLan: debatably the most useful telescope in the country, and overall an interesting and somewhat historical site to visit. Maybe not as impressive as the largest telescopes in the world, but if you have the chance to go here, it's entirely worth it.

Great talk from UCLAN on the basics of planets, stars and galaxies. Really interesting but unfortunately too cloudy to look through the telescope...... a winter's night in Lancashire!
