After using Silver Star for many years and enjoying the service and food, I felt I had to leave a review, the service was terrible and the food inedible!I would like to complain about my experience and meal ordered from silver star chinese takeaway in hedon tonight Saturday 13th Feb. The order was made online for collection at 7.05 I eventually received my order after 7.35!!!. Last time I ordered online xmas eve I waited 40 mins +. This is not acceptable. The meal I had chicken in oyster sauce, it was cold and didn't taste nice at all the chicken was of very poor quality and had no taste of anything, the texture was slimy. I ate 2 pieces and some very cold rice and put the rest in the bin. I am really disappointed as this was a treat for us as a family. I will not be using the restaurant again and would not recommend it.

Just getting my appetite back after been ill so thought I'd try curry rice and chips always been my fave and oh my god it was horrendous. Thin hard chips, that had clearly been left standing god knows how long, cloggy dry rice and not enough curry sauce to make it palatable. Only good thing was that I only wasted 3 quid and I won't be giving them another chance. It also looks very scruffy and grubby when you walk in!

Absolutely appalling visited family member in thorngumbald on our way home decided to get our tea from here as our local was shut we got a beef mushroom chips and rice and they wasn't part of the meal all come as separate also curry sauce and a portion of boiled rice total came to £20.00 the beef was full of fat and was like eating jelly the chips was really dry and the rice tasted starchy it is the worst Chinese I've ever tried it was tasteless and a total waste of money would never go here again if I was starving I don't think it even warrants a 1 star.

Ordered online from this Chinese today. We ordered a delivery at 5.45, and we had a choice of times for delivery, either as soon as possible or 6.45 onwards. 1.5 hours later I called and was told we had to wait another 30 minutes. 30 minutes pass and I call again. The woman on the phone had a terrible attitude and tone, and essentially wouldn't deal with my complaint because she only answers the phone. She also said that if I'd have called rather than ordered online I'd have known about such a long waiting time. Why have an online platform if you can't deal with the orders for the correct time?Eventually after some arguing I was passed on to the owner, and she gave us some money back but we had to go pick the food up, which amazingly was ready when we got there. So how long has it been sat there for?Would absolutely not order from here again. And they should consider hiring a new receptionist because she was the rudest woman ever!

SHOCKING! Ordered a delivery costing almost £50. Arrived over half an hour late with items missing. When we called about this issue we were told that they could not deliver the rest of our order due to staff issues! We were asked to collect the rest of our order or go in and get refund for items missing. Two people in our house were left with an incomplete meal. My husband had to leave his meal to go in to the shop to collect the rest of our paid for meals. We will NOT be using this place ever again!!!

AVOID AVOID!!! Just had a delivery to a holiday lodge a couple of villages away of over £60 & it was the worst Chinese takeaway we’ve ever had. We’ve never ordered from here before, so didn’t realise how bad they are. We are only here for 1 night & it has almost ruined it as not been able to eat the majority of the food. Ordered duck pancakes & it came without the hoisin sauce, so called them up to ask where the sauce was & was advised they’d run out?? Imagine sending dry duck pancakes out? Why not just say there was no sauce & we would have chosen something else. All the food was luke warm not hot. No taste to anything just very salty. The special fried rice was a joke. Shocking!!!

After years of enjoying sliver star good food, last night and the time before it was very disappointeing, the chicken curry was watery and had no flaver, I will not be getting food from them again for a long time

Food disgusting, fried rice not fried its boiled.I looked up there was flies all over the place, cleanliness it at its worst,never again willi visit that place,the girls that work in there, how can you, with all them flies buzzing about and them serving awful food.
