Booked for a barbie night. When showing up to Tokyo Tea Rooms we found it closed. Some people outside informed us the event had been moved to club Chemistry instead, but we hadn’t received any notification of this from Tokyo Tea Rooms. As we had been dropped off outside, we then had to walk in the rain through Canterbury to get to club Chemistry. Once getting there we found there was nothing Barbie themed whatsoever. The club was open as usual to everyone, the ‘throwback’ songs we were promised nonexistent, no decorations and the atmosphere was atrocious. After being promised pink donuts, throwback songs, a photo booth etc, needless to say, disappointed is an understatement. If I wanted to go to club Chemistry I would’ve chosen it. We left within the hour. I will not be returning to Tokyo Tea Rooms either now. The lack of communication and planning completely ruined our night, what a waste of money and time.

I went in the middle of Freshers when it was really busy, but the staff kept up with all the drinks orders. The bartender Cerys was lovely and friendly (and made the great vodka and coke) even with all the people around the bar. A brilliant person to have as your staff.

Went here on Saturday night with my mates, left my coat inside and they wouldn't let me back in the venue and the doorman started getting very aggressive, and now I have to wait a week to travel back to Canterbury to get my jacket back, the 2 door staff refused to get me contact information so I had to ring the venue to arrange to get my hoodie back. Overall bar staff was very nice however the night was ruined by a member of staff who used his authority to boost his ego.

I came to Tokyo last night with a friend, I just want to say how amazing Kieran was and how discreet he was when helping me with my health condition. It was the first time I had been there. He was polite, proffesional and kept making it known where he was incase I need help again. One of the most geuine politest people I have met on a night out.Also a big thank you to the security for being so helpful to.

OMG!!!! What a fantastic place to go!! From start (the very lovely Alice who I booked through, was so efficient and clear) to finish it was a great experience.I organised my friend’s hen night and went for a meal first which was an absolute disaster (a real hen nightmare), so the mood of the hens was not great. When we got to Tokyo Tea Rooms, we were met by Kieran (an absolute star!) who, from his very first words, completely changed the mood. He basically saved the evening, and I will be eternally grateful to him.He made a huge fuss of the bride, and lead us to the karaoke room. The room was small but intimate, and perfect for us. We had also been given a private area right outside the room (which I wasn’t expecting), which was great! ALL the staff there couldn’t do enough for us. They were so friendly and efficient.If you want a top night this is definitely the place to go. I don’t even live In Canterbury, I live in Surrey, and I would definitely make the trip there again, and encourage my friends to come with me. Even without the karaoke etc, the music they played was excellent. Such a great vibe! Obviously another shout out to Kieran is needed…….absolutely love him!!!Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for saving our hen night from the hen nightmare Kieran xxx
