I loved living in Central point and my room became my new home in a foreign land. The staff are extremely friendly and cordial. Security at CP is very strong, and so is maintenance. Overall, my one year tenure living in CP as a student was splendid.

A great place if you love mold, unbearable heat, kitchens that are falling apart, fire alarms and sleepless nights.En suite Rooms are spacious, and the view is great, but they are warm even in the winter without the heater on. During the summer it’s unbearable. The first day I moved in, it was so warm I couldn’t sleep that night.Fire alarms are out of control!!!! They check them every Tuesday at 11 o’clock and make sure you are nowhere near the building if you value your hearing. Also, these sometimes go off for no reason during the middle of the night. There were times when I wished that I died of smoke inhalation rather than listening to that loud alarm go off every now and then for 10+ mins.Windows in the room barely open, and they open from the top, you will be lucky if you can get a finger through it. I had mine open 24/7 and that introduced a new problem, road noise!!!Speaking of road noise, remember there are shops below this building and they restock. So, there will be large container trucks unloading goods at all odd hours throughout the night. Good luck getting any uninterrupted sleep. While the rooms have nice high ceilings, they always tend to get moldy including sides of the window frames. Bathrooms don’t come with shower curtains, and they are super small considering the room size. The room has only one light which only lights up the middle.Expect a lot of spam emails, since they don’t know who is who all communications are forwarded to all the mails making it a nightmare.Kitchens are a mess, once a cupboard door fell on a flat mate while she was cooking luckily, she didn’t get injured. The oven is not working and has not been fixed yet. The kitchen door had to be wedged with a broom because it makes a horrible noise which you can hear down the corridor to all the rooms. Luckily the receptionist was kind enough to come and spray some WD40.Laundry handled by Circuit Laundry (you might want to go have a look at what people have to say about them). You need to have an app and top up minimum 5.50 to use. They never work properly. You might be better off washing your own clothes in the bathroom and drying them in the room since it’s so warm inside.Partition walls are very thin so consider yourself lucky if you get silent neighbors. Unfortunately, I wasn’t lucky enough. I am a light sleeper so I never had a proper all night uninterrupted sleep since I moved in.

Probably the worst experience I’ve had with accommodation - and I’ve seen some dingy places.- Laundry room never works properly, so if you want to get clean, dry clothes (you can only have one and not the other according to the machines) apparently you have to pay extra at a laundromat 20 mins down the road.- Constant wifi problems on the 3rd floor, so forget about getting work done or stream stuff reliably at home. (It was broken for an entire month at one point, Yay!)- Kitchens falling apart but never got resolved, accounts from people who lived there the year before suggests it’s been like that for more than a year. This is not exclusive to our flat either, good god.- En-suite loos don’t even come with a shower curtain or divider??- Outlets in the rooms are flakey and often old. It really doesn’t look safe.- Boiler broke 5 times during the semester. (Love cold showers and the inability to clean dishes properly mmmm)Overall this place was just too much hassle, the lack of reliability never allowed me to relax there and focus on my studies. Waste of money and time. These places are hideously expensive and provide very little value, this place is a shining example of the blatant exploitation prevalent in the student accommodation industry.- Avoid Central Point & Capitol Students -

Lorenza Silva:Currently going for my third year in central point and I can say that for me in relation to price/accommodation/location I am very satisfy. The rooms are very spacious with loads of storage spaces. The location is right in the city centre above Poundland and two minute away from Tesco. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help, Liv, Abby and Kas are always available and ready to help, and are very kind to everyone!

This building is not a nice place to live. They use circuit laundry and there are only 3 washing machines and 4 dryers in the building for hundreds of students, and half the time the laundry app is down or the washing machines are broken. For 1 wash and dry it’s currently £3.50 for wash and £2.00 for dry making it £5.50 to do just one load of laundry. The receptionist (one in particular) are rude. Maintenance/ security enter rooms without knocking first. I do NOT recommend.

It’s really comfortable, prime location, rooms are spacious and the staff are particularly helpful and very kind. Liv and Kas have been amazing and they’ve made my time here really enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Good prices and right in the city centre.the rooms are decent size and with lots of storage. Maintenance staff are exceptional very respectful and accommodating. Stayed there for three years. Only thing that’s a bit annoying is the access to the bins it can be a long trip for some and no lift available from the back door. Also past year they said they were resuming their cleaning services (communal areas within flat) they didn’t. Finally the laundry! It’s a nightmare most of the time only one washing machine is working. And the laundry room is always dirty.

I lived at Central Point for several years and I'm glad to be well away from it now. While there were some merits about the ensuites, the size of the rooms, the Internet speeds, and the high ceilings, I had so many issues during my time with Central Point.Since they switched management a few years ago everything has slowly gone downhill. Save for a few friendly faces (who were almost all driven away by upper management), The staff were never particularly keen to help me, if they even answered the phone in the first place. The laundry situation is terrible - 3 washers and 4 dryers from circuit laundry for the entire building, all of which are dirty, and are regularly broken.Every room I've lived in (4 total, I had to move out of my first due to the amount of structural mold being dangerous for my health) has been lovely and spacious, but every single one had a mold problem stemming from the windowsills. I was always somewhat sick because of it.Finally, I was SA'd by a flatmate in my second year and upper management did absolutely nothing to make me feel safe, heard, or seen. I was left feeling vulnerable and scared, but staff made absolutely zero effort to help me when they could have. They even gossiped about it among other staff members who had absolutely no reason to know about what was said during that confidential meeting!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour I hope nobody else has to endure.
