Rose Cafe
Very cheap, small cafe just outside of York centre. Run by a couple so it's always the same people. Not many tables so the place dosent get very busy. I recommend.

Ok if you are hungry and desperate. I got an egg, mushroom and tomato breakfast sandwich. Tasted funny, like the mushrooms weren't washed (bitter taste). Really greasy and the egg was overcooked. Was not a pleasant sandwich and wasn't cheap either!

Drove 10 miles because google said it was the only open cafe for miles, but it was closed. Sign on the door says they’re on holiday and back to normal hours today, but they aren’t.

So rude, was with a lady with learning difficulties who couldn't understand there wasn't lasagne on the menu. Woman behind the counter wouldn't put her phone down to give any options apart from chips just chips. Won't go back for rudeness.

Absolutely gutted. Cheap cheap food. Sausage was foul. Bacon was well over salted! Egg was popped all over my plate. Toast was hard on the crusts Asif been sat in the air all morning. Everything was just cheap about myBreakfast here. Only nice thing was the coffee. Won't visit again. And halal meat. !!! No good!

Good breakfast but service without a smile. Even worse the milk was put in first so it took a lot of stirring to get a decent colour in the mug. Looks like the place could do with a clean up and sort out.

Was not the best of places I have eaten .only my wife and I in food had been precooked and reheated on hot plate . The sausage was not very good informed lady who cooked from frozen in a deep fat frier no different in taste and very light and bit pink inside

Chips too soft, chicken nuggets bland aswell as panini. I ordered 2 mochas, however only received one. turns out to be blessing in disguise as coffee looked like a muddy puddle, was not 12oz, the milk was unsteamed entirely, could not taste chocolate and the coffee itself felt like instant powder and tasted burnt

This is not just a greasy spoon, it's the best cafe ever. Their breakfast sandwiches are the best hangover cure ever, I'm sure all the students in the area will agree. Their food is amazing. The cafe always looks clean and bright and service is friendly. Really good value - it isn't dirt cheap, but that's because they use good quality stuff not the nasty cheap bread/bacon that alot of these type cafes use. You can park outside for a couple of minutes if you're just nipping in for takeaway.

Decent old-school cafe serving all day breakfast etc. Had the small breakfast breakfast with mug of tea which hit the spot. Paid £7. Don't expect anything fancy but that's not what I'm looking for when visiting these sorts of places. Efficient, friendly service. You can eat in or take out.
