I had a bad experience with groom and co at my wedding dress fitting. The seamstress doing the alterations was very abrupt with me and was barking orders at me. When my dress was on and pinned and I was walking around in the shop, I was told I couldn’t walk in my wedding dress and I needed to do better. I confronted the staff in the shop as it was making me feel very uncomfortable and it was supposed to be an enjoyable experience. I was very upset by the whole thing. My wedding dress fit fine on my wedding day which is the only saving grace. The staff are rude and belittling and it’s very overpriced. If I had my time again I would go elsewhere for sure. Then after everything the company then contacted me to ask if I wanted my wedding dress cleaned, no thank you.

Needed my waist coat taking in for my sisters wedding, contacted Groom & Co, had the fitting on the same day and it was ready for me to pick up 2 days later on the morning of my sisters wedding. They made it available earlier than usual and the waistcoat fitted perfectly. Thank you too the Ladies in Groom & Co, you saved me from a possibly angry bride

I had heard about this place through my friends who have previously gotten married and I could not wait to try them out my self.The staff at the shop are lovely and the dress maker was extremely professional. She was super helpful and really made feel very special about my wedding day and wedding dress. She was really helpful about the alternations I wanted to achieve on my dress and because of her great depth of understanding, she was able to highlight what i could achieve and not achieve due to the material, style, and what suits my figure.I would highly recommend Groom & Co to anyone and they totally exceeded my expectation. Thank you so much for making me feel so special.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Groom and Co for wedding dress alterations and pressing, they were amazing!I originally took my dress to them before the Covid pandemic, however I had decided to have a baby between then and my rearranged wedding date and so my shape had changed. However, that didn’t matter as they were able to give suggestions for the dress to suit my new shape and also advised on how best to have my dress to enable me to breastfeed my new baby! They were great, professional, nice and honest people, who provided a great service for a very competitive price, so much so that I will be using them as a dry cleaning service for my dress.

Thank you Groom & Co for doing all my alterations on two dresses and turning it around in less than 6 weeks (and a last minute bridesmaid dress alterations within one week!!). I had such a lovely experience from start to finish with the team at Groom & Co and I couldn't recommend them enough. My maid of honour, Sarah also got her wedding dress done here in November and recommended me - so glad that happened!I read the previous review and initial thoughts are if you want quality work it's never going to be the cheapest rate you find, however it will be in the best placed hands here.

I have had a very bad experience with Groom & Co. I have contacted the company with my complaints twice and have had no response. I was not happy with the manner in which we were quoted for alterations to a wedding dress as the seamstress appeared to pluck a figure out of mid air. There was no breakdown of the hours needed to complete the task. She did not measure my daughter correctly. We were left with no realistic choice about going ahead with the alterations as they had only given us an appointment near to the wedding day. I wonder whether this is a deliberate strategy on their part.I have recently had the dress dry cleaned and looked closely at the hemline and alterations to the seams. The hemline is very jagged and uneven where it was supposed to be altered. The seam allowances have not been regraded after altering so that some seam allowances are very bulky.As a dressmaker myself I am well aware of the amount of time needed to alter a dress such as this and it in no way justifies the fee we paid. My advice would be to go elsewhere.

Very rude staff, went in to get a inch of fabric sown on, staff didn’t understand and were telling me I had to get something else when I knew what I was asking for was simple, rude answers to questions, overcharged when a price list was clearly visible, believed it wasn’t their responsibility to answer my questions as “it’s not our shop we just work here” . Overall a patronising natureWent on the 23/oct 2023 at about 3 pmA reply to the response given by the owner :HiI feel I must reply as it seems your colleagues are misleading you on this situation.Firstly we were never given this explanation about needing to order a bespoke piece of fabric in that had caused that price. Me and my friends ask about the price we could see on the price list but instead of a calm explanation we were shouted at by one of your colleagues in a different room saying “it’s not our shop, we just work here”Secondly there was no fitting, this is a blatant lie. Whilst trying to describe what I needed doing your colleague was asking to do something different to clothing, when I explained that wasn’t what I was looking for she rudely said “do you want this done or not”. I was never shown any fabric options, I would’ve gladly used some fabric from in store but these options weren’t given to me. Your colleagues expected me to hand over my clothing not knowing what they were going to do it.Throughout the whole interaction me and my party were calm, tried to listen to your colleagues, we asked some questions as anyone would such as pricing, how long ect.. yet your colleagues were unable to answer professionally and seemed quite annoyed that we were there getting something done in the first placeWe have no doubt your workers are skilled at their job but in this instance your colleagues were highly rude and patronising, the claim we treated your staff in that manner is baffling, we never once said anything untoward, asked any questions that no other ordinary customer would, or any other behaviour that would seem aggressive. We came in calmly asking for help, complimented the shop, and were meeted with two annoyed women who did not want to help a customer and made that very clear.Looking on other reviews it seems there have been similar instances where your staff have been rude and sharp with customers, I think it is perhaps not good business to blame the customer when this seems to be a repeat occurrenceI would not ordinarily leave a review let alone reply to the answer. But this treatment from your colleagues was unlike any treatment I’ve received before and am deeply offended and upset your colleague would claim that me and my friends were aggressive in any way after the way they spoke to us.

I cannot thank Jeanette, Mitra & the Groom & Co team enough for fixing my dress and making it the perfect fit for my wedding, especially in such short notice. My dress went from ill-fitting and uncomfortable to the perfect fit within just a couple of days and this is all thanks to the wonderful team at Groom & Co. Mitra is truly an expert who transformed my dress in record time! I feel so lucky!Also, you were both so kind and comforting when I was nervous and upset about what my dress looked like when I turned up at my first appointment with you.THANK YOU SO MUCH! If I could give you more than 5* I would, I 100% recommend Groom & Co and the wonderful team there!

Excellent service from all their staff.Very friendly and explained what they were going to do in a kind and professional manner, which is great when I barely know my way around clothes alterations.I had two Grooms women who had suits which needed legs taking up, waist taking in a and the blazer being more fitted.Both suit came out amazing, the before and after differences were huge and made the suits go from being good and alright to stunning.We got their suits and mine pressed before the wedding too.Fully guarantee that next time I need alterations or repairs I'll be going to them.

I am reading some of the other comments and finding it very hard to believe some people have had such a bad experience! Jeanette and the seamstress (sorry i forgot her name) were so helpful and lovely to me. very professional and caring. They bent over backwards to get me in for my fittings and made me feel so comfortable. Given the amount of work they had to do they were very reasonably priced.I got so many comments on my wedding day about how perfect the fit was.Definitely recommend!
