When Butlers opened a year ago in castle Kane I’d thought great something completely new and the prices were amazing…. How it’s changed… sadly the prices are through the roof… unbelievable.. even simple tapered candle are almost £3 a pair… I’d bought two I. The sisters green in Anne street twice the side 40p each … the bow in the photo is £23… it’s a piece of material….Some great unusual stock but the prices are totally incredible… people are not that gullible!

I was having a lovely afternoon shopping with my 2 nieces, one of whom was celebrating her 12th birthday.We went into Butlers because one of my nieces said it was her mum’s favourite shop.We were looking at various items and my niece was holding a snow globe and it slipped out of its string attachment.It smashed on the floor, this is where things went wrong, obviously I was happy to pay for the item but before I could sort the situation a male employee came rushing over and quite aggressively said “you’re paying for that you know!”It was embarrassing and there was no sense of trying to sort the issue with courtesy or understanding that two young girls were embarrassed about the whole situation.His attitude was awful and in fact another customer beside me, noticed the situation and was as shocked as me and stated that she was leaving and would not be using the shop again.Contrast this to the wonderful reception when we went across to Lush and the staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming, the girls got free bath products as it was my nieces birthday.It was an incredibly disappointing experience in Butlers and I would encourage you to have a word with your staff and maybe help them understand customer experience and how to treat customers properly, if something goes slightly wrong, I would add finally that the item was £8.50
