The Millstone Inn
The Millstone is a large, historic and quite picturesque pub in the centre of the small town of Stamford, one of literally a dozen pubs within a five-minute-walk radius. This is definitely one of the best ones in some respects: nice interior, a beautiful and large beer garden in the back, historic front, and good, handmade pizzas (on weekends only). I spent a couple of hours there on a Saturday afternoon when it was quite busy. Service was good, my pizza (made on site, directly opposite of my table) was well-made and competitively priced (UKP 10 for any variety), and the atmosphere was pleasant if you don't count a group of vulgar, cheap women (Girls night out") who were loud and rather obnoxious. You'll find those at any larger British pub on weekends. The cask selection is decent if rather conventional (Timothy Taylor Landlord et al)

Liked the idea of a one price any Pizza meal @£10 in a quaint courtyard. It was nice. The drinks were nice too. The off putting part for us and the reason we won't go back, is the hidden 50p charge for using a debit card and no cutlery to eat with. So, cheese dripping down your chin and clothes it is then. I thought eating with your fingers was left back in the Roman times. We are not hard up for 50p, it is the principle, who carries cash these days?

Excellent outside garden. Easy to pop in when you park by the river. Went out of the way to make me a cup of tea while my husband enjoyed a good beer. We'll definitely be back.

Great beer garden and friendly atmosphere. Worth a pop in on a sunny day. Pizza's available at the weekends I think. Just a nice place to stop and have a drink in the sun.

Good pub with a good-sized outdoor space. Unfortunately for us, we sat down just as the sun was passing over, so we got a bit chilly. Problem solved by moving inside. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
