The Bay Colwell

A lovely apartment for a long weekend. Really well equipped and very clean. Nice little touches such as a couple of dishwasher tablets etc. beds were comfy, sofa great to flop onto after a day exploring the Island. Liked ‘Away’ so much, looking to book again next year in Cornwall!

The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped but the outside area with hot tub whilst private lacked views and was placed in a cramped courtyard with high walls so didn't feel as special as other resorts I've stayed in before and put me off spending much time outside but that may have just been our unit which was #23. Staff were fantastic.

Very small site.Very small (swimming)pool.No cakes in coffee lounge just costa.Bungalow could be lovely but not clean dust on everything floor hadn't been moped in ages.Items missing in kitchen and needed to get extension leads for lamps.Staff helpful to a point.Won't go back to this site.

We had a nice three night break. The cottage was bright and modern and location was beautiful. We paid extra for a hot tub cottage which was a real treat!Unfortunately when we landed at the cottage, it was pretty dirty (food and dog hair).Away resorts do such a great job of sending emails pre-stay with key info. However, it was disappointing to receive a full menu for the Bay Colwell in advance to get there and there was no food served at all!Unfortunately there was no grass in either of the two gardens in our dog-friendly cottage.A couple of improvements would make this place 5 star, it has great potential.

Good location.Shame parking isn't closer to cottages. Rooms were dirty, had to wash up all kitchen pans and cutlery as they were covered in grease. Bed covers had stains on them.Couldn't use hot tub on first night, as the maintenance was still going on when we arrived.

The location was great. But the rooms were still full of dust and pet hair, cutlery dirty. And facilities not what was expected from looking at the website.There was also no WiFi or children's play area.

Great little holiday park and good facilities. Fantastic layout inside the properties.. Only grumble for me is the un comfiness of the beds and my partner who usually can fall asleep anywhere agreed.

We have just returned from a four night stay. We absolutely loved the location being so near the beach and the indoor pool was so clean and quiet. If I'm being honest, our cottage wasn't really the luxury cottage we paid for, nice and spacious but just really dusty. We had a one year old crawling around and the amount of dirt and dust she was gathering with only being there an hour was a bit gross. There isn't any wifi in the cottage, which again... Isn't a massive issue but seems a odd nowadays. Would be really handy having a bar of soap for the bathroom. It's a perfect place for families and the garden was a nice space despite being all over grown. We will be back.

I've never stayed on the Island so it was a good excuse to have a few days over there with the grandchildren. It was a pleasant surprise to stay in the Beach Lodge at Away holidays. Our Lodge was spotlessly clean, lovely bed linen and good quality towels. Great views out of the panoramic bi fold doors that led onto a super decking patio. There is a swimming pool on site. The only minus is that there was no bar or restaurant on site but in defense it is a short run into town. An easy walk from the site to the beach and a lovely flat walk around the bay.

Stayed here for 2 nights - 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. We were really impressed! Everything was so clean, the chalet was very warm and well equipped - beds made up, good quality towels, washing machine and dishwasher etc. Even had a hot tub! Very quiet site which was perfect for us. There is a small indoor pool, soft play and it's really close to a beach. Highly recommend! We will return.
