I've seen some negative reviews..why? What do some people expect from those who have far greater knowledge than themselves.. I've been a club cyclists for over 30 years and I've found Chris to be the most likely to give honest advice, is by far the best bike mechanic around and will always do work at the cheapest cost to the paying customers. Makes my blood boil reading comments of the uneducated buying bikes at Halfords and then chuntering.

Popped in for a few parts I needed for an older bike and he had exactly what I needed in stock, gave good advice, and was very reasonably priced. Will be using Spen Velo for all my bike needs from now on, highly recommend this brilliant shop!

I've taken all my bikes to spen velo and have used him for years. Just recently bought a road bike with a few gremlins and wanted it sorting before I set off on holiday and they took my bike in straight away and had it back to me in no time all sorted and so reasonable can't recommend him enough just great service

I have no idea how this place possibly got any good reviews. Well, actually I can but pay attention to the honest reviews!From the moment I entered this shop it felt like I was ruining the owners day by wanting to come in and buy something. It seems to be a shop for cycling experts and they'll be quick to point out you're not. All I wanted was to replace the inner tube I brought in with me. Instead of looking at the tube, I got an arrogantly toned set of questions about it before I was worthy to buy from them. Avoid.

Bad attitude. Went during Covid and was told to wear a pointless face covering despite the fact the owner wasn’t wearing one. Had a very arrogant, aloof attitude.

Awesome. Delivered 2 really bad condition bikes that had been in the shed for yonks, one was missing the seat, both rusty, flat tires and I half expected him to laugh and show us the door but less than 2 working days later he'd fixed them both and my sons bike rides like a dream, he's dead impressed . Fair price for condition they were both in so yes I'd recommend
