Fantastic Victorian health suite lots of character very clean . You pay at baths walk down the road 1minute . They give you a token and a wrist band the token gains you access box at door .put band on prior to going in as this is proof of payment . It appears people are letting people in with out paying. may remind people non payment is theft and you could end up with a criminal record !My band did come off but I kept receipt staff did see my band on however during shift change I was correctly questioned when the member of staff noticed. I showed my receipt however YOU MUST HAVE wrist band on this occasion I was fine . Just doing his job !Highly recommend a visit I would say use it or lose it . The staff are exceptional see you again100%

Much cleaner than it used to be.Very helpful staff. No longer opens most afternoons. This concentrates swimmers into morning sessions .With the new arrangement for lane use ie fast swimmers in the middle lane. This leaves too many swimmers in the slower leisure lane. These 2 changes have concentrated too may people together at a time when Covid still rife.Sadly I will not be starting a new contact as I had planned.Roll on the new pool.

This centre is OK but don't expect luxury...They do great swimming lesson classes etc and is attached to the victoriana health spa and sauna which is outstanding beautiful inside...The council are wanting to demolish the pool building for a rebuild at the sands centre and it needs to happen...Its always very clean and staff are great but it's very outdated now. Also has a nice little gym for the 'I'm scared of gyms' people..

Went for our 4months old very first swim. The change rooms and pool were absolutely spotless and the (majority of) staff were brilliant! We asked permission to take photos as it was our first swim and we checked with the life guard and everyone in the pool- they all okayed it. When we started taking pictures we were shouted at by a supervisor who informed us that if we'd have checked with higher management they would not have allowed us to take pictures.THANKYOU to the staff that did allow us to and also told us about the swim lessons- because of you we are already booked in for lessons and will return. I really hope the supervisor reads this and takes note. You need 50p for a locker and there is space in reception to leave a buggy if you need to.

I've been coming here since I was born and it's never changed. It could do with even just a light overhaul. The changing rooms are ok for space but dirty and worn down. The showers are usually somewhat broken and cold. Never know when each pool is actually open because can't get through via phone. Needs a good scrub and plumbing checkup.

The new pool is disappointing. We took our 3 girls swimming Saturday morning. There were swimming lessons in both the smaller pool and half of the main pool. The main pool then felt cramped. My kids wanted to splash about and play, but I was very conscious that there were many adults wanting to swim, the space wasn't big enough for both swimming and playing. I heard comments from other swimmers also complaining about how busy the pool was. There were just over 20 people in the 2 lanes that we had been allocated, fine for lane swimming but not if kids want to play tag in the water. Such a shame, this is Carlisle's main pool, and it's too small, particularly if lessons are going on during public sessions. I would only consider returning if we could use the full pool without lessons going on, and without the lanes.

Good variety of pool options, which are hardly ever too busy. Changing rooms.could do with an overhaul and it's never easy finding a locker that works. The Better computer systems/website are terrible so plan for delays if you're booking or subscribing to something. Nothing against the staff though.

The sooner the new pool is open the better. Terrible changing facilities. Most of the lockers don't work, the showers are smelly. Virtually no evening swimming.

An excellent morning in the spa. Lovely Victorian setting but with new steam room, sauna facilities. Various hot rooms and a very cold plunge pool. Nice people to talk to as well in a nice atmosphere. Friendly staff who were helpful. Well recommended.

I liked it but a man asked me to swim full length in the deep end but I find it difficult to swim far and when I went to swim full length I gulped a lot of water wich made me need to stop swimming. After this I was told to stay in the shallow end but my body was barely in the water when in the shallow end which made me uncomfortable and a bit more disappointed with my visit. Me and my friend went to the vending machines to get some food and it didn't give my friend her change back which disappointed us.
