Unusual location- pithead still standing. In new hands. Art for sale & exhibition. cafe. Coal trolley planters . Pottery class in. Theatre/cinema.

Florence Arts Centre
Florence Mine is a lovely intimate venue hosting some fantastic concerts and theatrical events and I've enjoyed many great nights there. It is also a great platform for new artists and song writers to get their work seen or heard and to share it with others. The Comedy nights are a 'must see' too and always a sell out!

A place to buy a unique range of pastels and paints. I wish we lived closer to enjoy the exhibitions and musical events. A warm welcome and a very interesting visit. I wish them well. Well worth a visit.

Just had our first visit to the Arts Centre as part of the Open Studio and Art Trail. Really lovely welcome feel and artists happy to discuss their work. Tasty coffee and what a thoughtful as well as beautiful setting with the old mine head. The colours are rich red, green and yellow - took lots of photos!

Missed the entrance to the road it's on in the dark - from the west heading south it's first exit off the roundabout and almost immediately left again. Nice venue for small gigs and great space for exhibitions and workshops. Masses of mine artefacts and signs from the adjacent mine buildings.

Welcoming staff. Lovely coffee. Great cozy cinema held every Friday 1pm. Variety of gifts on sale. Many art workshops on offer

A really lovely arts centre with more to see and do than you might think!Not only do they have art exhibitions that change regularly, but also a range of events, from a knitting social club to free family and adult films and even music gigs often hosting local up and coming bands.Having never been before I was thoroughly impressed and will be returning soon!
