The Chop House is always a great experience.The menu features a range of delicious options, from classic cuts like ribeye and fillet to more adventurous offerings like T-bone and chateaubriand. And if you're not in the mood for red meat, the restaurant also offers a selection of chicken, fresh seafood and vegetarian options.The decor is elegant and understated, with dark accents that make you feel instantly at home.Service is also exceptional, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who are happy to offer recommendations and ensure that your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional.

Simply Outstanding!Last visited here 4 years ago when I was living in Edinburgh. Decided to come up for a long weekend with the other half. Once again it didn't disappoint. Best steak I've had.Gutted there was no scallops on the menu. But the tempura prawns made up for it!The waitress was super friendly and made us feel welcome despite being rushed off her feet!It's off the beaten path... but worth a taxi or tram to find this little gem! Be sure to book though!10/10

This was my 3rd time there. As with my two prior visits, the food was great. Absolutely no complaints there. But unfortunately, the service is poor and the atmosphere isnt what you might expect for a high-end eatery. Upon arrival (we were 10 minutes early ..) our hostess was very quick to point out how long we had to finish our meal and return the table. Other than that, not very friendly. She took our order and that was that. After being served, no one bothered to check back with us (until they wanted the table back). We were also disappointed with the atmosphere. There was a table of very loud young patrons. Laughing very loudly and at times screaming at each other. The staff made no attempt to quiet them down or to remind them where they were. This might seem like normal behavior in a pub, but again, keep in mind this is supposed to be a high end eatery, and they charge high end prices. I'd probably consider returning in the future but only bc the food is that good. But I do hope that these guys can improve their service and decide what kind of place they want to be.

I took a friend visiting here late on a Monday evening. There was only 1 other table dining at the time and I fully expected the team to tell us they were closing early or be slightly put out by the unexpected late arrivals. This could not be more opposite from what happened.We were warmly greeted by the team working and given 5* service throughout. We enjoyed the amazing offer on the porterhouse steak (possibly the best steak I’ve eaten in years) after sharing some lovely tempura prawns.The two working were knowledgeable, personable and friendly throughout. We never felt rushed even though we were the only people there. 10/10 and will definitely be back.

I love the food here! The cut was perfect and juicy, and they had a 50% Monday promotion on Porterhouse (which was a pleasant surprise because our group loves Porterhouse). We also love the rump steak and mushroom veggies. The beef fat fries and oysters are also amazinggg. The staff here is super friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is very warm and cozy. We will definitely be back here if we are back in Edinburgh.

First time visit. The starter Tampura prawn and its sauce were great. The steak I ordered was sirloin (300g). It looked nice but taste wise a bit disappointing. The sides were good. Wine was good too. The atmosphere in this wee restaurant is impressive as well. My rating is actually 3.5 star due to lack of service standards for a premium-ish steakhouse! Service could be a lot better. Will give another try though.

Really good Sunday roast. The bone marrow gravy is a game changer, the sauce on the carrots as well, all done with a touch of finesse. Lost a star for not asking me how I’d like my roast and further, stupidly charging us 2 quid for extra gravy which was enough quantity to fill my ear with. It’s customary to have a small pot of gravy to drench your Yorkshire puddings in, no need to rip customers off for it.

Visited here as a group of three friends, lovely place, spotlessly clean, friendly welcome at the door.The food was amazing, fillet steak being mine and it was easily the best steak I’ve ever had, sides were just as good. One of those evenings where ‘ooh try this’ was said repeatedly. Dessert was in the same league as the steak, just perfect all round.Great food, great service, well priced and all in lovely surroundings. A perfect evening. Thank you Chop House, top marks from me.

Popped in as we fancied a nice steak; we were not disappointed. The dry-aged meat was incredible, as were the seafood starters (oysters and tempura prawns). Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great selection of cocktails and drinks as well. Hidden gem in Leith for sure.
