Sam's Taxi

We’ve used sam taxis a couple of times and over the moon with service he provides definitely recommend top guy!!

Sam could not have been more helpful or kinder after such a stressful journey we’d had on the trains. He wanted to make sure we made it to our connecting ferry and gave us a great deal to help us get there. Couldn’t recommend enough!

We had a terrible experience with his cab company. We were stranded in Salcombe. As Devon is known for very poor service, we did not receive any phone calls from this cab company stating we had to confirm. At the time of booking a cab there was no mention of paying a securing deposit or mention of needing to confirm this via telephone or text. Upon realising that the cab company was not coming, we phoned them up to get an explanation. The telephone respondent on the other end of the phone had no sympathy and was awfully rude. Luckily we found another cab service to take us, 24/7 taxis, which had no problem at all. I would avoid this taxi at all costs.

Sam saved a small army of people stuck at Totnes after a cancelled train. He did it cheaply, refusing extra money and he did it with the kind of jovial, amiable character that puts everyone at ease. He turned an awful day into a much better one.

Friendly and accommodating. Would recommend Sam to anyone travelling in the area.

Avoid this company at all costs. We booked at taxi from Salcombe back to Totnes for midnight and I received a text at 11:40 saying it had been cancelled as we had not confirmed by phone call. Outside of the fact I had not received any calls, there was absolutely NO mention of the booking being contingent on a phone call confirmation that evening when I initially made it. On top of this, he was extremely rude when we got in contact with him to figure out what was going on. Zero appreciation of the fact he had just left us stranded in Salcome, over half an hour from where we were staying, with no hope of getting back. I’ve honestly never been spoken to like that by a taxi company. Luckily, after calling everyone we could find, we found another lady who was kind enough to stay out later that she was supposed to to pick us up and actually offered us a cheaper price than then Sam had! Do not book with Sam’s taxis, worst experience I’ve ever had. If I could give zero stars I would.

Very helpful, Sam was a great driver and helped us out as we visited a vineyard near Totnes for the afternoon, before taking us back to our Airbnb in)Dartmouth on a busy Friday with no fuss and for a reasonable price. Would highly recommend!

Sam was so helpful! He wasn't available to drive us back to the station on the day we were leaving, so he phoned around to find us a taxi at the same reasonable price. Would highly recommend.
