Reasonably sized car park, useful when you go walking or cycling around here. Not a lot of shady parking spaces though, but there is a nice picnic area with shade.

Beautiful wood, lots of little footpaths which lead into the woods off the main track but you can stay on the track which cuts straight through the woods. Parking is good

It's a great place to come with your dog ,for a long walk between the really tall and old trees with wonderful view for a valley. There are 2 stone circles which are perfect places for barbecue. Parking capacity is ok . Highly recommend this as a place where you can spend the lovely afternoon:)

Lovely area of forest above Rudry. it has a circular walk above the carpark with wide forestry tracks and some leafy side trails.Heading north you glimpse and then see the beautiful area towards Machen. Returning it has some lovely views south over the Bistrol Channel and on a clear day to the Quantocks.

Found this little gem and will be back again as it's a great place to walk the dog. Lots of woodland to explore off the main track which is well maintained so easy underfoot. There is a picnic area at the entrance and it's not that far from the Maellwydd Pub if you need other refreshments. Parking spaces available but are limited.

Great place to walk a dog, push a pushchair or wheelchair. Big car park enough for 30 cars and free. Wide path that circles through the woodland. If you don't like driving in narrow lanes then this place may not be for you as there's several miles of narrow country lanes you must go through to get there.
