I am surprised to read Tom Andrews review & disagree with every point he makes. I & wife make a point of visiting The Cafe, Ventnor for an enjoyable,good value lunch every time we visit the Isle of Wight (several times a year). The staff are always friendly & polite &;we always hear evidence of that from island based regular customers , often known by name to the staff. We have always enjoyed the food & atmosphere & will continue to do so. Many thanks to all staff.

A table for 5 was booked before hand..3 of us had never been to this cafe before..All 5 of us really enjoyed our meals..Roast dinners,Lasagne with garlic bread,cheesy chips ect..apple pie,custard and ice cream thoroughly recommended...It was a varied menu,catering for all tastes..also staff and atmosphere made for a happy memory for the 5 of us today.. ..

Totally disagree with the review made by Tom Andrews. My husband and I go into The Cafe several times a week for drinks and at least once a week for a meal. The food is always good and the staff are always friendly and polite. Cannot believe anyone would write such a review about a Cafe which is loved bt so many.

Awful cafe with awful staff. Food was burnt and was told I could not change it. The owner came out of the kitchen and is a vicious women and very nasty. Worst customer service ever. Before this a woman complained about her cake and owner said not her problem as someone else made it. Then as owner was in a bad mood had a go at her staff, I would not work there if I was them. Awful atmosphere, awful owner with nasty temper and even worse customer serve. Not at all relaxing, stay away

Best food ever! These are the best cheesy chips I’ve had! Love Sue and Karen and all the waitresses too, they are always lovely. Definitely come here for your lunch

The best place to eat on the island! We love going so much that we book a table every week to meet friends! Great selection of food with a fabulous selection of vegetarian and gluten free meals, cakes etc. Definitely the best coffee in Ventnor too.
