UPS Solar - Solar Panel Installation, Maintenance

I selected UPS Solar for their detailed proposal, clear options, quality of equipment and advice from a short list of three. They made the whole process straightforward. Installation, setup and functioning all in one day. 14 Sharp black panels, Fox inverter and batteries, and iBoost for free hot water. Writing this after a few cloudy days and watching our grid use drop dramatically! Very pleased with the system, the Fox app is useful to see what's happening.The team are helpful and professional, I would recommend UPS Solar.

UPS Solar were among three quotes I had for a solar installation. The initial contact was quick and efficient with a survey arranged (no commitment required) within a few days. The surveyor was knowledgable and helpful with my many questions, as were the staff at the office. The quote was within my budget and the installation process was clearly outlined in the correspondence. I went away for a month and spoke to them again on my return. There was no hard sell and I felt happy to proceed. A slot became available within 10 days and soon the scaffolding was erected and UPS came a couple of days later to install my system. The installation was completed in one day (by 5pm) and I made my first and final payment the next day. The follow-up paperwork and registrations were supplied and completed as promised and the whole experience was very smooth and uncomplicated.The FOX ESS solar PV system is working well with the batteries and Octopus is now paying me for electricity I've generated. The Solar iBoost for hot water via the emmersion heater is great as well.Overall it was a good experience dealing with UPS and I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

Awesome and professional. I took my time researching what companies to use and ended up going with ups, I’m glad I did! I had a system in mind that costed a lot more and the guys got me a better system for cheaper. Shout out to Stuart, Aiden, Simon, jack, Rhys and special mention for Andy the roofer/panel fitter. Andy gave some solid advice, initially I was measured for 8 panels on my main roof but Andy with his measurements said he could squeeze 11 panels. The panels fit perfectly and covered almost all my roof and very close to the limit. I get more power out of my system because of this. He also saved me money on optimisers because I only needed them in key areas and that saved me hundreds. These guys are courteous and professional. Clean and efficient job. If you’re on the fence about solar then I would say go for it, I still generate electricity on a normal cloudy British day. And if you're finding it hard to find a good company then definitely give ups a try. One thing to watch out for is the scaffolders who are cowboys. They broke one of the roof tiles and quickly left without saying anything and getting them to come back was a pain.Thanks guysMohsin

We found that UPS Solar prices were extremely competitive, they were also able to provide the automatic change over equipment for the emergency power supply (EPS) system that we needed, which no other company could, or even knew about.Once we decided to go ahead with the quotation, we didn’t have to wait long for the technical survey visit, very soon after that we were able to arrange an installation date.UPS Solar were very professional, they kept us informed by text message and email at each stage of the installation, all of which went very smoothly.I did have to phone them for clarification regarding a couple of things, but these were technical queries, and they were very helpful with explaining what I needed to know.I would have no hesitation in recommending UPS Solar to anyone looking for a solar panel installation.

Great experience with my dealings with this company from initial sales contact through to final installation, they were genuinely helpful and supportive - not to mention delivering a first rate system at a great price.From the sales/proposals side, Jen was knowledgeable and worked with us to put together a system that suited our needs but was in no way 'pushy'. Once given the go-ahead, Sophie and the office team provided good communication - and after DNO approval, the installation was carried out the following week.The first installation team were great both with the 18 panel install over 3 roofs, and the garage install of the inverter and battery system. Even an issue with one element of the delivered/installed hardware demonstrated excellent customer service and efficiency of the company - Simon and the office team had a replacement and second installation team out the next day to swap it out. I was so impressed with their service that I decided to take advantage of the scaffold, and UPS Solar returned 2 days later to expand the solar panel installation by 4 panels.

Excellent service and trouble free installation completed by a excellent two man team with a brilliant work ethic. Scaffolding work undertaken by an excellent two man team with the same great work ethics.

10 out of 10. From the initial competitive desktop quote, provided by Alan through to survey and installation I couldn’t have had a better experience. I now have 14 solar panels with bird guards and 3 batteries. Barry and his team were outstanding. Scaffolding up on day one, installation on day 2 and removal of scaffolding on day 3. A special thank you also to Simon the engineer who came out 3 days after my installation to rectify a couple of teething problems and explain in detail how the system works and how I should use it. I’ve already recommended my boss to UPS as they were obtaining solar quotes from different companies. Outstanding performance all round. Well done !

I have had no lights for a while now ( long story) and my solar panels were dead so I called UPS Solar on Monday and today, Wednesday, I have working lights and solar panels!I cannot thank this company enough and would recommend them highly. The electrician that they sent round was cheerful, polite and friendly. My knight in shining armour !!!

These hombres they speak the truth!!!As a fully paid up member of “The Green Storm” I really wanted Solar….Sadly, a national and well known company were making it hard work. I got my deposit back and went to UPS.The geezers at UPS made everything pretty easy. They were a lot of fun to deal with.Scaffolding up on time and everything sorted without too much fuss. To be honest we had a minor boo boo along the way which UPS sorted out very efficiently – so top marks.EVERYONE at UPS Solar obviously cares about what they do and how they do it.UPS Solar fitted a better system than I had signed up for with “the other lot.”I just cannot recommend them highly enough.Look at all the reviews left for them. These geezers are total rock and roll and know their business inside out!!!

Please do not think that this 4 star rating is in anyway a sign of disappointment, as I am extremely happy with my new solar installation! Unfortunately the issues I faced were due to ongoing delays due to fitting team issues.I found UPS Solar online and after reading the reviews decided to fill in the online quote section and get a price for a 5.6kw system. After only a couple of days I had a detailed initial quote from Sophie at UPS. The quotation allowed for me to make amendments (such as add extra battery storage). Once I was happy with the quote, I approved it (all online, no sales pressure at all).The next step was for a surveyor to visit my property and check that the system was correct for the house and to discuss any questions. This part of the process went seamlessly with great communication from the office staff at UPS.An Installation date was set and this is where the issues began. The team were supposed to arrive between 8-9am Thursday and at around 9am I received a call from Danny to say they would be at my property by 11am and not to worry as the job would be completed by the end of the day. By 12:30pm there was no sign of the team and they eventually turned up at 3pm (sunset was 4:30pm).The lads said they had no time to start the job and I was not happy as myself and my wife had took the day off work so we could be around for the installation. We then agreed for the team to return on Sunday 9am to do the install. Sunday arrived and the team turned up at 12:30pm, however I was told it would be completed that day. Again the lads were up against the clock as daylight was fading and they only manged to get the electrical side done (Danny done a good neat job with the electrics) and some of the rails fitted to the roof (no panels up).Danny said he'd be back Monday to complete, then on Monday morning I got a text to say he'd been let down and now could not come on Monday. At this point I was fairly angry at being let down time and time again and contacted the office.Tuesday morning at 8am Shane turned up on his own, a nice lad from Southport and he literally worked his backside off, fitting all 18 panels in only a few hours and in addition he fitted the anti-bird nesting plastic to the panels (which I would recommend to protect your investment). Shane was amazing and had the system producing energy in no time!The system looks amazing and even though it's been cloudy is happily producing power for our house!In summary, I would recommend UPS Solar, the four star rating only reflects the delays in fitting. From Sophie and Michael in the office to Shanes almost machine like work ethic I have been very impressed and would have liked to give a 5 star rating, but please don't let my 4 star rating put you off getting your solar array from UPS. Thank you :-)
