Went to hear Stanhope Silver Band's 200th anniversary concert and was greatly impressed with both the standard of playing and the venue. Never been to Consett before so was pleased to see a thriving, modern theater.Visibility and the acoustics were very good and the seats were comfortable and not cramped.A real asset for the town.

Went to see The Old Oak today film was good but theatre was freezing. No heating on on a wet, cold and rainy day. Spoilt my afternoon view with my coat wrapped around me trying to keep warm

Great venue, bar is very reasonable got to be quick to get to the toilet's as queue can get quite big .

First time to the Empire for over 50 years. It's changed. Excellent night out, however reception/bar area is to small but is there space to reconfigure?
