Not sure what has happened with this place. But I receive a worse than bad service and I even had 2 wedding so the had a chance to redeem themselves after the first one. For my first wedding Scotland I was given dirty unwashed kilts and jackets on the morning of my wedding (a week and a half late) with no time to clean the myself. My waistcoat was broken and the one I ordered for the kid came without a tie or sporran.I was given a partial refund but still not even close considering they ruined my wedding day.The second time over was even worse service and none of the kilts fitted , we where given one for the kid (3 years old) a small man's kilt and told to cut it up ourself. These guys successfully ruined both my weddings and I'd recommend no one uses them.

Forget about hiring from anywhere else.This place is all and everything you could ever hope for.I don't know where to start for this review. I was looking to hire a kilt and after calling a few other stores with no response, I was lucky enough to find Davison Menswear. I gave them a call and Marty responded. He was everything you could hope for and more when looking to hire. He was available at all hours of the day (and I mean ALL HOURS), and was incredibly accommodating. Marty is hilarious and so kind. He genuinely cares for his customers and their experience.A unique part of hiring from Davison's that I was not expecting was the EXPERIENCE. Marty made it so easy to get a hold of the kilt suit by driving to me, the suit was in perfect condition and smelled incredible. Marty genuinely wanted to me look great for that night and I really did. He checked in to see how the event went and was so flexible when the suit needed to be returned. The kilt suit looked great but the whole experience was incredible. I felt cared for and supported by Marty and Davison Menswear in a way that I have not experienced from ANY other company EVER before.I cannot recommend this establishment enough and have referred them to everyone I know and will never go anywhere else.Thank you Marty for everything.

I went in to enquire about getting new kilt straps for my Dads old army kilt from the 1940's. I was very quickly helped to get what I needed. Super customer service from 2 very friendly gentlemen. And now that I know they do kilt hire, I'd very definitely go there if we are ever in need

As a visitor to Scotland with no knowledge of kilts or kilt hire etiquette, I quickly found how hard it is to rent a kilt on short notice. I needed a kilt for a wedding in Braemar and only had about 36 hours to do so after arriving in Edinburgh. Marty was the only man out of many that I called that would help me. Genuine as they come, we had a few good laughs before he sent me on my way. Added pictures below.*I forgot to put on flashes so make sure you do when you rent a kilt!

Visited shop today along with my brother who'd travelled through from Glasgow especially to organise kilt hire for his wedding. Chose davisons as had previous good experiences. Unfortunately store was closed without any explanation (when checking online it said it was open as usual, 10-5). Tried to phone shop multiple times and also their out of hours mobile phone number (this rang out multiple times before being switched off). Was also with my 3 year old son who was excited about getting his first kilt. Complete waste of time travelling in and out of Edinburgh for this. Appreciate that sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances which might require closure at short notice but perhaps a sign on the door or answering the mobile number intended 'for 24 hr use' would have been helpful rather than us waiting around brunstfield for several hours to see if the store might open...
