The Implant Centre - Brighton & Hove Branch

My wife has had the most fantastic treatment from the Hove Implant Centre and two of the surgeons there. Firstly Paddy who carefully and with great expertise fitted two implants. The treatment was always explained carefully to my wife and she had absolutely no trouble healing from the surgery which went to plan. The second part of the treatment was fitting the crowns this was done by Bill and his team with huge thought and expertise, colour matching and scanning to produce the perfect teeth to fit in with the rest of her teeth. She is delighted with the results and can not recommend Paddy and Bill from the Implant Centre enough. I great job thank you!

I was amazed at the true brilliance of the staff during my appointments at The Implant Centre.As someone who has grown up as an extremely nervous dental patient, I recently needed to address a problem with two lower front teeth, one in particular which over time had become very loose, it had got to the point of being incredibly painful too.I was given the name of The Implant Centre, where a friend advised me that the staff specialised in successfully treating nervous patients.Right from the first visit, where I was warmly welcomed at Reception, right through the whole process of Consultation, Assessment, Advise and treatment, there could not be anywhere that the total quality of service could be bettered.The advanced level of staff knowledge, together with the amazing modern technology used provided further reassurance.The Surgeon (Guy Barwell) who completed my treatment, together with his assisting Nurse (Coral), ensured I was given the reassurance and time any fearful patient would be grateful for. (Thank you also to Nurse Stella).The necessary removal of the two front teeth, with immediate replacement, (porcelain teeth) fitted via a perfectly fitted bridge was expertly completed by Mr Barwell.This surgery was made as smooth and gentle a journey that I would not have thought possible when having any dental procedure.I could not be more thankful and full of praise for this Practice, together with each and every member of staff I came into contact with during the whole process.Thank you all at The Implant Centre.

Being an Ophthalmologist myself I know how difficult it is to deliver all of the elements of booking, information, treatment, explanation and follow up at the highest level.ps I am following orders and doing my best to keep them clean!

I have just finished treatment for 4 implants. I cannot fault the caring, friendly and professional treatment I received from Guy Barwell and all the team.I was talked through every stage of the process which was completed with very little discomfort. Having the implants has made a big difference to me they feel just like my own teeth I really don't know I have them.I have no hesitation in recommending The Implant Centre they are experts in dental implants and provide a 5 star service.

I just had an excellent experience having a front tooth dental implant. I snapped one of my main front teeth in an accident and had a high-tech post and crown for years, it recently broke and my next option was to get an implant and my dentist referred me here.I really wasn't looking forward to it at all. I'm a rather anxious dental patient and my case was complicated which only added to my worry but from the moment I walked into the centre I felt well-looked after, from the spacious and comfortable waiting room and friendly reception staff to the skilled technicians and doctors working at the practice - I felt confident that this was an excellent place to have this work done.They have a lot of new high-tech equipment and procedures and at times it felt more like I was at a medispa rather than a dental office. Bill did my implant yesterday, fast, efficient and a perfect job. Pain-free and minimal discomfort afterwards. Bill also explained in detail exactly what would happen at each stage so I knew what was going on at all times - something I really need as an anxious patient.The aftercare is very thorough and I'm really pleased with my entire experience. I'll be back in 3 months for my permanent crown to be attached to the healed implant and I know it'll look fantastic.

Arriving at the Hove Implant Centre in a total state of anxiety about my tooth extraction I was greeted by the receptionist who were caring and kind to both myself and my partner. Andrew Brown, Rex Yetton and Emily all helped to calm me and get me to the point of Sedation from there my memory is sketchy, I felt no pain through the whole process of extraction. We left the centre an hour later with me feeling surprisingly good. A massive thank you to everyone your calm, kind, caring and effortless support and expertise are excellent, my recovery continues to be good. If ever required I won’t hesitate to return.

VERY POOR EXPERIENCE1. Rating is based on the cost of 2 implants / bridge (£6,500) for my wife2. The process from start to finish took approx. 6 months. Far too long and exacerbated by issues catalogued below3. The person who performed the 3D scanning didn’t appear confident in what she was doing and the dentist had to instruct her to perform additional scans. This didn’t inspire confidence4. When the implant was fitted there was clearly a major issue with the teeth sizing. The dentist initially tried to justify this by saying that sizing is based on a persons bite. When this point was further challenged, the on-site technician was called-in and concurred that the implant was not “fit for purpose” and would need to be replaced5. A mould was taken for the 2nd fit and the new implant was fitted 2 weeks later. During the fitting, there was a loud crack. The dentist initially indicated that this was normal during the tightening process but quickly back-tracked when it was obvious that the implant had physically cracked6. At this point, we were so frustrated that on returning home, we immediately contacted the Implant Centre Admin team7. After relaying the story, the head of the Admin team informed us that this would be treated as a “formal complaint” i.e. the matter would be independently investigated and somebody would respond with the results within a few days. Note, that the Implant Centre took it upon themselves to treat this issue as a formal complaint. We never at any time used these words in our discussion with the Admin team8. The Implant Centre never responded to the complaint. The only further contact from them was to confirm availability for the final fitting. Whilst both the Admin team and dentist did apologise verbally, there appeared to be zero accountability and certainly no consequences9. It’s clear from the reviews that there are satisfied customers but the real test of any organisations excellence, credibility and attention to customer care is when things go wrong. In our case, the Implant Centre failed on a number of levels. For these reasons and also taking into account the premium price point for using “specialists”, we would not use the Implant Centre again.

This is a truly excellent practice and the treatment and care that I have received at The Implant Centre Hove is fantastic.My initial assessment revealed very little bone and a difficult bite! Dr Bill Schaeffer carried out my surgery with exceptional skill and care. The whole procedure was pain free and healing and recovery quick and uneventful.Dr Matt Rose fitted the crown and the result is perfect. It felt like my own tooth and was completely comfortable straight away. Dr Rose also, with great expertise, endless patience and attention to detail resolved a problem crown that had been done at another practice.Stella did the scanning for my new crowns with care and kindness, taking the time to answer any questions and explain each step of the process.Thank you to an amazing practice, the nurses and reception team are efficient, kind and knowledgeable.I am so happy with the end results and would highly recommend The Implant Centre to anyone thinking of getting implants.

This is a joint review as both my wife and I needed treatment at the same time! We both immediately had full confidence in our dental surgeon Mr Barwell. The whole process was fully explained and we were told what to expect at each stage. There is no escaping that it is a necessarily long process, but the end result was so worth it. We are both completely satisfied and delighted with our implants.

This company can really charge, they are all about money.I was referred by my Hove dentist. 3 starting appointments; £250, £250 and £180. I am now in receipt of my dental plan and quotation of fees. It took a while. They stated it would be within 2 weeks, but it wasn’t. When I questioned this by email, they replied it wasn’t possible because of current staff shortages. When you’re paying this amount for appointments you expect amazing service, and things to be delivered on time.My quote is mind-blowing, thousands, thousands and thousands more. Try an overseas dentist, that will have to be me. Madness, I only live local to the Hove Implant Centre.In life I have always felt the need to pay for my healthcare, I never got on with the NHS. I even have a private GP. I was expecting to pay a substantial sum. But there is a big difference in charging privately for dentistry and blatantly ripping local people off.I would not recommend this practice.
