This is our 3rd day and we are already pleased with this place. A victorian house with excellent homey and comfy room. Host Kathryn whose amazing support keeps us comfortable like at home. Landlord Tom is a nice friendly person and caring our every query. Highly recommended place.

No body there upon arrival and the phone number was showing as unavailable for twenty minutes. When I did manage to speak to the owner I was informed how to get into the building as was subsequently told the wrong room number. After moving my family from one room to another and swapping keys in the lock box I recieved an email advising how to get in and that my room was the original one that we had entered. The room itself could've used a good hoover through as there were hair clips and other little bits of rubbish on the carpets, dirt on the walls and ceilings, the sink in the ensuite had no plug, the electricity socket nearest the door didn't work and the mattresses are the cheapest that I have ever slept" on.I won't be returning."

Great time had as we were all in one location. Rooms are quite basis with a focus on packing in as many beds as possible. Garden has plenty of chairs. No communal longue and dining table has benches for seating. No shortage of linen, toilet paper, soap and shampoo.

Spacious, clean, and a great place for a family get-together. 14 of us stayed here Christmas 2021 and it was perfect. We particularly liked the dining arrangement because there was so much space for us all. Plenty of crockery in the kitchen, really well equipped, and the fridge was large enough for all our Christmas food for 4 days. Plenty of storage too. This place really lends itself to family gatherings. Walking distance to local pubs and shops of which there were plenty. Tom the host was great, quick responses to any queries and easy transaction. He was there to welcome us, hand over the keys, and to show us how everything worked. The bottles of complementary fizz in the fridge was just the icing on the cake - thank you.

Very comfortable old school B&B too many rooms for water pressure and a little noisy the night we stayed but Tom was a fantastic host and interesting well traveled guy. Fantastic full English breakfast with a good choice of cereals and preserves including peanut butter he even brought out Wasabi as a joke for my Vietnamese wife when she asked for chilli sauce or Tabasco. She took the wasabi for her sausages anyway

I booked this hotel almost 4 weeks in advance of the check in date and tried to cancel it within 1 hour when I read that pets were not allowed in the email confirmation. I immediately contacted the property to explain the situation and to request a cancellation and refund as I had paid in full upon booking. However, no refund of any amount was authorised by the property so I lost the full amount of GBP300, despite my efforts to immediately cancel the booking. Very disappointing experience as this was in the hands of the owner to do the right thing for me and my family and friends at Christmastime, despite the T&Cs.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a ground floor room with ensuite , the room was spotless and a pretty good size as was the ensuite that had a bath and shower , bed was comfy but with being on the ground floor people were talking at 8 in the morning as we were on a break you dont want woke at this time , this was why we didn't book breakfast , might be an idea for the hosts to put up a sign to this affect .15 mins walk into Chester centre with parking for 3 cars though you may get blocked in .

Baytree was the perfect base for a family trip to the zoo!Tom and staff were super friendly, helpful and easy-going.Family room was cosy and had everything we needed for our 2 night stay.Breakfasts were freshly cooked with plenty of choice for all tastes.Ideally situated just 15 mins walk away from central Chester and with some lovely eateries in Hoole itself just down the road.Highly recommended. Many thanks.
