This little place is a hidden gem! The only place open on a Sunday afternoon so we popped in to have a drink and kill time while we waited for our dinner reservation.The bar owner is a lovely guy, very friendly and really knows his stuff! The place was constantly busy.Known for his ales and ciders but he had a great selection of wines, gins and other spirits. He helpfully gave us tasters of a few different drinks to try before we bought.I asked for a G&T and he had a great recommendation for one I hadn't tried before with a new Italian tonic water. It was amazing! Had some nuts, nibbles and pretzels for the table. Was just a delightful late afternoon chatting away to all the regulars.

Keen, helpful and knowledgeable barman. A lovely little find just off the town centre with some very nice beers and ciders. They already have quite a local following, well worth a visit if you like proper beer.

As on holiday here we popped in for a beer and what a great friendly place with a great choice of ales,we returned the following evening to see a wonderful American blues singer, again great ales and a great crowd,keep up the fantastic work,Gerard & Derrien from Mytholmroyd West Yorkshire.

Fantastic selection of ales kept beautifully at the right temperature. Not to be missed when visiting the town. First class air conditioned venue. Neat tidy and clean. Spot-on!

Wow what can I say! What a lovely pub, the landlord is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home as do the locals. A fantastic selection of beer and cider in a relaxing atmosphere, this really is an absolute go to place.

Superb little micropub with a wonderfully friendly, and helpful, landlord. Four hand pull ales on and a good range of ciders, plus gins etc. Being spoilt for choice the landlord, Dave, gave me a sample of each beer. A really friendly place which is well worth a visit.
