A good free museum detailing the history of Trowbridge, with a focus on the textile industry. Some good exhibits to give an understanding of the machinery and developments in the industry post industrialisation.

Great little museum spread over two floors, showing the history of the town. Plenty of things to keep little ones entertained and entry is free.

This is a gem , right in the middle of Trowbridge. It is free and has an amazing range of things to see. The view from the top floor, means you can see almost 360 degree view. Def worth a visit. Highly recommend.

The museum now has two floors of exhibits (although seemed to me to have less on display than previously, maybe because it's less dark and cluttered and more open). It also has plenty of toilets on each floor, as well as rooms for things like windmill making classes, my granddaughter very much enjoyed this as did I. There were tables for refreshments, not quite sure if any were available or maybe school parties bring their own. Interesting views from the windows too.

To put some of this review into context, I used to thoroughly enjoy the old museum back before the remodel. There was a warm and welcoming atmosphere to it, it smelt old and had an ambiance that really made you feel like you were in the heart of Trowbridge's history. Now though, it feels like it's trying to be more of a contemporary art gallery, showcasing only a very small fraction of the original history that it once did, and that's somewhat disappointing. We were welcomed by a very friendly member of staff who advised us that we should check out the crowning achievement of the remodel, which at the time was marketed to us as a stunning view" of Trowbridge
