Oxfords

One of my great joys of living in Dorchester is having Oxfords bakery around the corner. Their sourdough bread, croissants and cinnamon rolls are simply 'hors categorie', as the French say. And not to forget: great staff!

Staff were not very good. Not friendly or helpful. One poor man asked what quiche did they have the girl said it’s written on the counter. It wasn’t very clear written in white on a glass counter and some people might not see well. My sausage roll which the girl said was hot was cold and the other pasties took so long to come out my disabled daughter had finished her cold sausage roll! The staff never said please or thankyou! Would never go again because if this. Just not welcoming at all.

Lovely people serving. Great choice of breads and vegetarian fillings in quiches. Enjoyed a coffee and mint tea as we were early in day and not yet hungry. Will come back

First visit to Oxford's. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the toasties were both substantial and absolutely delicious. Based on that experience we will happily visit again when next in Dorchester.

Oxfords Bakery and Cafe. Is 1st class the staff is so friendly and polite.Their coffee is second to non, and their cakes are out of this world, especially the Eccles cakes.It is our favourite destination whenever we are in Dorchester.We also love their Coffee Beans to take home which reminds us of Oxford’s when having a coffee at home.

Walked in to here on spec and would definitely return. Amazing food, fair prices and very friendly and helpful staff. Mention must be made of the lady in the kitchen who comes up with all the lovely recipes (sorry, I missed your name) Counter staff were all brilliant although I only got Sam and Geoff's names

HERO TO ZEROI have been coming to oxfords for years. The bread and baked goods are great and previously my children have always been so well catered for. We have been so many times in the past. Usually they have a plain cheese sandwich that the kitchen makes as none of the sandwiches behind the glass are ever suitable for my small ones. However my last two visits were completely disappointing and my children couldn’t eat anything. The kitchen refused to make them, they said they could only slice so many loaves of bread a day - so I offered to buy a loaf so they could use the bread and that was shortly followed by another excuse. They weren’t busy on both occasions and the staff working were rather unfriendly. I told the staff on the day how disappointing my last two visits have been- they didn’t seem that bothered.IF YOU HAVE UNDER 5s AND ARE LOOKING FOR A SANDWICH LUNCH, DEFINITELY AVOID!

Favourite bakery and coffee shop in Dorchester. Cakes, sausage rolls, bread and coffee always lovely. Their blue vinnie sausage rolls are delicious. They make an amazing almond chocolate croissant. The staff are friendly and dogs are welcome.

We popped in today and bought a wonderful mixed salad and a really tasty rocky road slice to take away...the people here are so friendly, the selection of food on offer is amazing, and the quality is outstanding. Go there!!! Xx

Such a lovely, friendly and family feel to cafe. From the moment you walk in the atmosphere hits you, the staff are genuinely happy and don’t get me started on their mochas….they would be hard to beat and the cakes….yummy!!!
