Just been to this restaurant/pub tonight and what a beautiful meal. Soft thick cut chips which just melt in your mouth, absolutely delicious.Amazing staff all round and fantastic service. Will definitely become a regular visit due to living local.

I don't often leave a review but on this occasion I felt it was necessary. I've known of Shaw Farm for many years, I haven't visited for a while until recently and I'm so impressed by how much its changed, the vibe as soon as you enter has completely changed, the staff were fantastic especially a young lady named Alisha, she was the most polite and welcoming, she had a lovely smile and knew her stuff on the menu, she's obviously a keen member of staff and its lovely to see someone enjoying what they do. We shall be returning for a Christmas lunch as Alisha was very keen to explain all the different options that are available and it all sounds so tasty, thank you so much.

Beautiful building, I come here a lot just for coffees.Had a roast here for the first time. Good food , small portions and very overpriced. Also service is ridiculously slow. Not sure how they expected me to pour the gravy without making a mess !Saying this id possibly be back as it’s great for drinks and a snack.

Not enjoyable at all bank holiday Monday and the place is very quiet now I know why . Starters: not king prawns and no mango in the mango and king prawn cocktail. The fish was not cod regardless of the waitress insisting it was. Sent mains back as the cold chips were French fries and not triple cooked as per the menu. No garlic prawns on the platter for two. Hard undercooked chips. Burgers were dry and tasteless. Disappointed to say the least. We were told by our waitress that the chefs are exhausted due to the bank holiday and had been forgetting to put food on the plates. No excuses everyday should be treated as a new day. The table behind us had garlic prawns also left off their sharing plate and the ladies in the corner left their steaks as it was inedible.

Staff nice and friendly, but they brought out our main meals followed straight after by the starter !!!!Overpriced, starter was Calamari (£6:50)but instead of rings was just little bits (and I mean little bits)

Food took an hour from ordering to bring in the table. My husband ordered trio of meats roast only 2 types of meat were on the plate. This was quickly resolved once a staff member know. One of my children had chicken and sausage roast. The sausage wasn’t so dry and burnt he couldn’t eat it.The pub / restaurant is lacking time management for meals and quality control checking before it gets to the customer.

Service was good, generally the staff seemed friendly and attentive, atmosphere was OK, the pub and restaurant had a nice feel, huge beer gardens which is great. Pond area and gardens appear a little overgrown which is a shame. Food was a little underwhelming, I had the chicken club sandwhich, which was tiny but tasted nice.

The food here is outstanding. Major credit to the chef. The young lad Elliot was very professional, carm and polite. Unfortunately the other service was appalling. We was only 1 of 3 tables eating in the restaurant and the other tables were on mains or desserts when we arrived so it was not busy at all. Firstly, we ordered drinks then the waitress came back to take our starter order. 20 minutes later our starters arrive but not our drinks. We had to go to the bar for these because they weren't made and the waitress disappears between orders. The wine glass was covered in lipstick all round the rim. When I took it back the man at the bar poured it from the dirty glass to a clean glass and gave the contaminated wine back to me. Our eating time is approximately about 40 minutes but we was there for 2.5 hours because the amount of time to take our next order, to find staff and to wait for the food. We had to wait over 20 minutes for dessert that didn't need heating and we was the only ones in the restaurant. We then waited another 15 minutes after before giving up and walking to the bar to pay. We stood in front of the girl who completely ignored us for about 5 minutes before letting us pay. I think I would rather spend the extra money at Miller and Carter for the same standard of food with a much more professional service.

We went out for a lunchtime family meal. Our waitress was most helpful and friendly. We all enjoyed our starter, main meals and desserts. All the starters, mains meals, and desserts were nice size portions. We would definitely go back again.

My friend, my dog and me had a really enjoyable visit for lunch. Our food was first class and very good value for money. So good that gluten free bread was available, a necessity for me.The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, the staff were very welcoming.
