Delamere St Car Park

Called at this car park today on the lower 3 level, when I was ready to leave I inserted my ticket into the machine and since I had only been 7 minutes the machine told me that my ticket was within time and for me to leave, when I got to the entrance I was ordered to pay £2.50 as I had taken too long to exit the car park. I drove straight from my parking spot to the exit quickly. The car park attendant on the machine was rude and I will never use this rip off car park again and the attendant should be dismissed.

It's a small two floor underground carpark. Seems a lot of people park then haven't a clue how to walk out. There are exits near the payment machines, open door > go UP and keep walking UP until you get to the street exit. There are multiple doors/stairs to exit/enter from. On your return, put your ticket in the machine, it will ask for your card payment > it tells you the cost > then asks for your card again to charge you. I have no idea why it doesn't just take the money like every other contactless system.

It's a really good place to leave your car safe.

I often use this car park because it's relatively near most things and the price is rather reasonable. However, I struggle to give it a higher rating due to the size of the paths inside. I usually park on the lower floors, and the turn into the ramp can be a bit too tight for comfort. Visibility going up these ramps is also very poor, and I end up hoping another car isn't going to pass in front. The only other downside is one of the entry doors. For the most part, you can only reenter the car park using your ticket for security. However, one of the doors is currently broken (and has been for a long time now). It means anyone can enter without a ticket massively reducing the level of security.

The worst parking experience I have had. I was verbally abused by the member of staff who works there and I am absolutely disgusted by his rudeness. He should not be working within a customer service environment, horrible man. To add to this the way he speaks to elderly people via the “help” button knocked me sick.

If you work in the city remember to factor in £120 per month out your wages to park your car. They should consider a reasonable monthly fee for those working in the city.

Advantage it’s very close to town and off the main road so easy to find. Disadvantage entrance is tight and curbing wheels very common as can be seen by tyre marks and chipped concrete edges. Price is the norm for Chester. At least car feels secure as you need your ticket to get in.

DO NOT PARK HERE IF YOU HAVE LOW PROFILE TYRES OR LARGE CAR! The entrance in is possibly the worst piece of planning I’ve ever seen! Narrow lane , 90 degree bend and sharp high kerbs (when the rest of the car park has angled kerbs!!)Gonna cost me over £100 to repair the alloy.

Decent prices for Chester city centre. Can be a bit tight to drive around but if you have a smaller car it’s fine. Have to scan your parking ticket to get back in to the car park. You can pay by card/cash at the machine inside the car park.

Good number of parking spaces, some spots might be a little tight. Close to Chester town center.
