Nice place to visit

A beautiful old graveyard unfortunately in ruinous condition. It's been used for hundreds of years and has an extremely high concentration of medieval graves. Very peaceful and relaxing with loads of graves to look over. Parking very limited on Kirkhill Road, doesn't take long to walk down. You can also walk over from Dalzell House.

Stumbled across this old graveyard when out for a lunchtime run. Really glad that I did. What attracted me straight away was the large monument in memorial of Robert Montgomery Hamilton. This large structure can be seen when following the River Clyde walkway as I was.The graveyard is derelict and no real path to it however it is easy enough to navigate.Further research shows there was once a church which can be seen from the ruins in the photographs.Well worth a visit.
