MacBook Pro screen repair. Started well. Really quick to respond, very flexible and happy to try and turnaround the repair asap to minimise any disruption. Picked up the laptop too which is a real advantage. Seems like a nice guy but this is not what I’d even slightly call a professional outfit.Craig then supplied and fitted a faulty screen (these things happen - no worries), but rather than taking responsibility for this, ordering another and then switching it over, leaving his client sorted and the job completed, he puts my old screen back on and then leaves me waiting while another one is ordered. No stress. Happy to wait even though it’s a bit of a weird process, but then weeks of poor/no communication follow, with multiple chases from me before finally another screen arrives. This time the box is damaged so he sends that back too. Again, bad luck. These things happen. Happy to wait.Literally weeks more pass, more poor communication, or more like zero communication… and no new screen. Oh, by the way I paid 100% up front (won’t be doing that again). Craig eventually does come back to me - reports still no screen and then uses personal reasons as an excuse for not getting in touch. Now, I get that we all have stuff going on in our lives, but using them openly as an excuse for poor service is just unprofessional. Even when they’re true. Just apologise and do your best to sort the problem out. Surely?So finally, several months later, I lose my patience, ask for a refund and then magically the screen turns up. Funny that? I’ve had enough by now though so wasn’t keen for more of this game and stuck with the refund option.It took 2 weeks for the refund to be transferred and did I get 100%? No. Craig decided to pass on a return charge for the screen that took weeks/months to turn up, over to me. The right thing to do would’ve been for him to take that hit (I mean, it was only £25!), apologise for a poor show and move on. But no.So that’s an essay. I’d say Craig is probably good at what he does and will go out of his way to help you. But if it becomes a little bit difficult, expect poor comms, excuses and a pretty unprofessional attitude.I contacted Craig in August. I got my refund at the end of this unsatisfactory process in mid November.I’m not saying don’t use this guy. If things go smoothly then I reckon you’ll be all good. Perhaps Craig will read this and get his act together - then it’ll be a great little business. I doubt it though.
