SACK THE RECEPTIONISTS! Horrible concerning service. To agree with other reviews, they do not care to help. Not that the GP’s make it any better. The NHS is over worked? Are you sure? They aren’t even making time to see patients. Phone call after phone call because they can not be bothered to come into work, to be told to take just take paracetamol because they can not be bothered to examine their patients properly or make the effort to come IN. Disgusting. Doctors take an ethical oath when becoming doctors. They are all a disgrace and have chucked their morals out of the window. Shameful. The manners and awful decorum of the GP’s themselves seems to only be trickling down the ladder to the receptionists. They are vile. No MANNERS at all. They treat sick people like prisoners the way they talk to them on the phone and at the desk. How do they sleep at night? Miserable. Just because you are not happy with your own life, do not take it out on vulnerable sick people.

I recently had an excellent experience with Wavelery Rd surgery. My son was sent home from school with bad hayfever and had gone to bed, feeling overwhelmed with symptoms which were affecting his eyes particularly. I explained to the receptionist that he was currently taking Piriton but it wasn't touching it and he needed a stronger anti-histamine. I mentioned that it was urgent due to him starting GCSEs in a week's time. The receptionist was extremely helpful.and sympathetic. A doctor called back in less than two hours and sent a prescription online to Goldchem. Within a further hour we had the tablets in hand. My son took one and immediately felt relief. I was very impressed with the efficient turnaround and service thank you

Had an appointment booked at 9am. The door was shut, no one was inside. Rang the doorbell, knocked the door and window. Called but put on hold. Waited outside for 30 mins. How can you book in an appointment for 9am and then not open the surgery? Time wasters. Avoid. Go somewhere else.

I am heading on my honeymoon in april and put my travel questionnaire in to the surgery in Feb on the same day and same time as my partner. She got a letter 2 weeks ago advising her of when her appointment will be. I waited patiently as was aware my pre appointment admin was due to be done 2 days ago. I called in after not hearing from the surgery to be informed that:1) Athough the nurse has had the admin time there are no notes.2) A different nurse was assigned to me.3) The nurse I was assigned to doesn't actually have any availability before we travel.4) Because of how long it took the nurse they assigned for me to do the admin all the other nurses now have no availability. (Odd given the first thing the receptionist said when i called is that they do have appointments now for travel).5) Advised I will have to go to a travel clinic to get vaccines. When asked if that means I will have to pay for something that should have been free they said yes.UPDATE: I called the surgery again the same day and spoke to a different receptionist who was very sympathetic. She said she is going to see if anything can be done and will aim to get back to me by the next day (day of writing). Sure enough I got a call from one of the nurses who has managed to find a slot for me to have the vaccines 2 weeks before travel.

Disgraceful service. No follow up regarding mental health, weekly repeat prescription is a mission to get, they messed up with my records generating a new NHS number, can’t even get through to them, total of 1:30 hrs wasted waiting on the phone today. I’ve been trying to get an appointment with a doctor but receptionists will give all sorts of excuse not to. Then told next appointment available on 5 December. I will have to keep calling 111 for my week repeat prescription or to see speak with a doctor.

Called yesterday morning and was told to call back in the afternoon. I called back in the afternoon and there was no availability. Receptionist wanted to know way too much about my problem. Called this morning as I was advised to do yesterday and then I was told this morning that I have to send an email and my problem won’t be solved over the phone. Before I could even ask how long the reply process will take the receptionist had already said goodbye and slammed the phone down hard. Ouch

I had been poorly for over a week. Rather than bother the surgery, I tried Paracetamol and Ibuprofen but I wasn't getting better. Having spoken to the surgery, the advice given was to come to the walk-in surgery rather than wait for over 2 weeks for an appointment. After being poorly for a week, I was so glad to be seeing a doctor. Sadly, the whole experience was most unpleasant. Having read the review from Tracy, who visited the walk-in on the same morning it seems that we have both been treated badly.

Today I went to the walk-in because of several medical issues. Dr Stone couldn't care less. I was and still am worried about my health, he seemed annoyed however I was probably his second or third patient. I understand if someone has personal issues but we are patients who either need help or useful advise, not like to lose weight you need to exercise"

Rang about a sore throat, the receptionist was very helpful and organised a phone appt with the Dr. Dr Sheers called, she was incredibly empathetic and efficient. Had a prescription sorted in no time. Great response, thanks to the team there.

Doctor was rude and uninterested and made feel uncomfortable.Went to the doctors for a referral. Waited over a week and still nothing. Called again and was told to keep calling back weekly.Called maternity service directly and was told there was no record of me being referred and booked me an urgent appointment straight away as should have been seen by now. Only been a patient for less than a month and considering moving already.
