Yeldall Manor
Never heard back from them, they never bothered to reply to me, not a letter, not nothing, don't bother with them

I am giving Yeldall 5 stars because they gave me my son back.10 years of trouble, debts, lies, stealing anything to get his fix. Treading on eggshells to avoid an explosive row, worrying if he's getting beaten up or stabbed when out.Contacting rehab places asking for help for free and getting the answer no. Until I contacted Yeldall. Everything yeldall did was brilliant, communication, support for me and his fiance, the programme that was set up. Caring and supporting my 22 year old was worth it's weight in gold.My son is back to normality which means my life is back to normality. We were at breaking point....thankyou so much to every single person at Yeldall, I give thanks to Jesus for giving us renewed life through you guys Amen

Yeldall Manor is place where men can regain the ability to rebuild their lives from a place of clean living and stability. The work programme is perfect in as much as it conditions men to adhere to a work principle devoid of personal gain. It is really hard work at times and for those men that use this element whole heartedly its a means to get fit, learn new skills, have fun and rebuild self esteem. Plus the comeradery among the men and the volunteers is crucial to develop building relationships that don't involve drink or drugs. The chit system teaches the residents about taking personal responsibility, it encourages environmental and self mastery with a helpful, tow the line approach. Simply follow the rules and lifes easy, don't and your privileges are revoked. Not harshly, realistically. In the real world consequences for not looking after your self and your responsibilities have much, much more severe consequences such as don't pay your rent, end up homeless. Early bed or kitchen duties are a piece of cake compared to some of the situations residents have ended up in.The whole point of going to Yeldall is to learn this stuff. As for the money, give an addict access to cash, guess what they do? The slow increase in weekly budgets is exactly that, a budget. It also protects residents from relapsing when they feel flush. Too many men have left the programme over a few hundred quid and not survived. The place is a God send, the staff, supporters and volunteers are a God send, the programme a God send, and the Christian element is the key to a peaceful life, a full restoration, healing and inner forgiveness that I believe you would be lucky to find anywhere else. Attendnce at church is not forced however attendance is expected, (a tow the line part of the programme) and if connecting with a higher power is unthinkable, then in my opinion you perhaps ain't ready to be in recovery/start a programme.Yeldall is wonderful. It's not about how much it costs, its always been about helping promote healthy change, changing outcomes and showing love to the men that enter its doors. What happens to you when your there depends mainly on how much you want your freedom back.Yeldall Manor 5 Stars ***** Does what it say's on the literature.

I gave Yeldall Manor 5 stars because they literally saved my life. It was one of the hardest things I ever did but by far one of the most worthwhile things also.My addiction had ripped me to pieces and the staff and supporters were amazing because they started me on my journey of recovery and helped me believe that a life totally free of alcohol and drugs was possible. The bottom line is this I walked in the door of Yeldall in march 2019 and nearly 3 years later I haven't touched a drink or a drug since. I'm back in full time employment, living in my own flat with all restored relationships with my family and friends. That's a miracle. To anyone out there considering reaching out for help give Yeldall a go. You have to really want Recovery and no one can do it for you but Yeldall Manor will certainly give you a solid foundation and skills to start you on your journey. Just reach out and call them you never know it could be one of the best things you ever do for yourself. It was for me.Andrew Mc

Note: I wanted to give zero stars.Where to start with the issues surrounding Yeldall Manor?1. They frog march you up to an ATM once a week for you to withdraw your ESA benefits to give to them as “contributions” (you’ll be allowed £20 but it will be looked after by them). This is on top of your weekly fees even if your privately funded.2. No contact with the outside world (ie your parents, partner or children) for the first 4 weeks (including post!). All you’re allowed is 30 mins of phone calls total per week.3. They use a disciplinary system in which if you get a certain number of “chits” then you’ll be stopped from having phone privileges and visits from your family. Even prisoners in jail have a right to speak on a phone... just saying.4. The will give you disciplines for not attending church on Sunday’s despite claiming to be tolerant of all faiths including atheism.5. Most of the week is spent doing “work therapy” which isn’t therapy. It’s looking after their estate. You learn no skills beyond how to rake leaves and wash plates. If you’ve ever achieved more than a GCSE you’ll find this incredibly mind numbing and it’ll never help you gain employment.6. They are now banned from conducting detoxes because they were allowing people to detox from opiates and alcohol on site without any medical staff being present at the building. A GP down the road who refuses painkillers because he says prayer will help is insane. People can literally die during detox so let’s just be happy the CQC realised and stopped them doing this.7. Multiple people relapse on site and if they do they aren’t necessarily removed from the program as long as they apologise and praise Jesus.8. Your weekly counsellor will also be giving you disciplines and conducting various tasks that your counsellor shouldn’t. They should be a safe unbiased place for you to talk. Ethically this is mind boggling.9. This place is above all else designed to convert you to Christianity. Sure, they want you to be sober but they want you to be a sober christian. Look them up on companies house and read their company objectives.10. They only hire Christians. Now, surely a rehab would want the best and most experienced staff for tackling addiction? Well trained counsellors, etc? Oh.. not Yeldall. They hire Christians first and foremost. Mostly ex-residents who were successfully brainwashed and then give them training in Christian counselling. These people aren’t qualified to the level of other rehabs charging the same amount of money. If you’re privately funded and have any choice do your research. The list continues but I’m bored now.

I would definitely give this place 5 stars. Food is amazing, although buffet breakfast could be a bit more substantial on a Saturday. Might be an idea to offer English and continental breakfast options! Evening entertainment is exceptional, we were blown away by the ABBA medley!! Room service could be better and the pool does need a clean but on the whole a great experience!! One of the complex managers named Sue was really helpful Andy always polite. Great job all round
