Old Roman Villa Site

An old roman villa excavated in the 1960s by a local archaeological and history researcher to find the floor mosaic of the building. when found it was photographed and recovered to protect the remains of the old Building floor. set on the top of a depression in the old field. no marker shows its location. this is an old field road/footpath that travels to smeeton viaduct and saddington reservoir where an old shooting range was located and old munitions have resurfaced over the years (old mills bombs)
