Arrived at the tea room 3.30, the 2 before us went in then closed sign was put up infront of us, tried to enter shop to ask if we could just get a brew, to be told quite bruskly whilst pointing at the sign by rude lady that they were shut.... says 5pm on website.... won't be going back there... customers in garden weren't impressed either.....

Nice hot chocolate and a piece of. carrot cake.Food being served to others customers looked very appetising.Not 5 stars to it being a bit unfriendly, no smiles etc.A very rude asian family turned up and the young lad serving handled it well.

We were looking for a quick drink and a seat before heading home.Opening hours state they close at 4pm. We arrived at 3.30pm and sat down whilst other customers had just been served full meals.After a short period we were abruptly greeted and were rudely told Excuse me

We’ve visited Lavenders Tearoom previously for a couple of years and always enjoyed the cakes and scones. We planned to visit again last Friday on our way to Whitby having checked it was open and asked if we could book a table for five . We were told we could not reserve a table but Howard felt we’d be able to be seated easily but on arrival there were two signs outside saying Open on one and Closed on the other which we were confused about . Also tables had reservation blocks on them which we also found confusing . The response we received was unfriendly and abrupt - our custom has now been lost for any future visits . Very disappointed !

Cute little Tea room with freshly baked goodsLoved the Fruit scones and Clotted cream .. it was incredible..They have a cute collection of gift items and my fav was the bath oil selection .It’s a must visit if you are in North York Moors do visit This team room at Thornton Dale

Visited a while ago with my partner. He had a lasagne and I had a beef and horseradish sandwich, both were absolutely divine! I do have a question - is your horseradish homemade and if it is do you sell it because it was the best I'd ever had!?

Beautiful tea room style café right in the centre of Thornton Dale by the beck. Outside seating is a great spot to people watch with your brew.Inside is cosier for cooler or wintry days and the first floor lounge is stunning. The range of food & drink on offer is very good and the waiteresses are friendly and efficient.A great place to stop after a walk around this stunning Chocolate Box village.

Went for an afternoon tea as a birthday surprise. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food was so fresh and tasty. Situated in a beautiful setting on a beautiful day. Just about perfect.
