iLase - Prof. Mohammed Muhtaseb

I recently had eye cataract surgery under Prof. Muhtaseb, and his team, and would like to say I found the whole experience, i.e., the examination, the pre-op, the actual operation and the follow-up care to be exceptional in every case. My eyesight has improved immeasurably, and the multi-focal lens works perfectly. I cannot praise Professor Muhtaseb enough, for his care, his ability to put one at ease, and the professionalism during the whole procedure. Thank you to Prof. Muhtaseb and his team. I’m very pleased.

Re a cataract operation on my eye by the Professor. It was a success and I felt confident, calm and cared for throughout. I admire his professional and friendly approach and his undoubted skill. I return with my other eye soon.

I was naturally apprehensive about having cataract surgery, but I needn't have worried. Prof Muhtaseb is friendly, reassuring and professional and explains all the processes and procedures very clearly making it a trouble free and easy process. The difference in my eyesight after having the surgery is incredible and it made me realise just how bad it was before! My recommendation would be to go ahead - you won't regret it.

It is about a year since I had my cataract operation at St Josephs. Professor Muhtaseb was my consultand and I was very happy with the procedure and the after care at the hospital. I was very short sighted before I had my cataracts done and Prof. Muhtaseb was able to prescribe enhanced monofocal lenses to correct my sight. These were excellent as I am now able to see clearly in the distance as well as being able to use the computer without needing glasses. I only need glasses for reading or other close work. I had both eyes done – two weeks apart and both times the operations went very well with no pain during the procedure. I was looked after very well at Nuffield, Cardiff Bay. Having recently had Enhanced Monofocal lenses provided and fitted by Prof. Muhtaseb to resolve my cataracts, I now amazingly have perfect distance and mid-range vision and only wear very week glasses for reading.The whole experience from Day 1 on initial engagement with I-Lase, through to the post operation care has been exemplary. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Professor to anyone who requires this kind of surgery and if your looking for a 1st class experience, then that is simply what I received.

Highly recommended!I’ve seen a few doctors and have explored various options (including the NHS who advised me to go private as the lenses they recommended were not available through them) about aggressive form of cataract in both eyes. As soon as I met Prof Muhtaseb, I booked both surgeries.I had cataract surgeries with multi focal lenses inserted in both eyes four weeks apart. The operations itself were quick, post op care amazing with phone calls and check-ups.A week after my surgeries, PCO was spotted in both eyes. It quickly developed and Prof. Muhtaseb’s reaction and guidance were invaluable as soon as I started losing vision again. I had a YAG laser appointment within two days and after that my vision was clear again.It’s been now over six months with perfect vision. The best return on investment!
