Just had our annual service from A.C.T. Never had a problem with the system since it was installed 5 years ago. This year's service was super quick and John was in and out within 15 minutes. Great service.

We’ve had our security system and monitoring service from ACT excel for nearly 7 years and their customer service, tech support, monitoring team and engineers have always been excellent. Sarah has been incredibly helpful when we recently added to our system, and the engineer John, who has regular serviced and installed our system over the years has been brilliant every visit. Highly recommend this company for the best security tech and service.

The good parts. As a start, John called today to carry out our annual service. He was quick, efficient and very helpful. The system works well is easy to use and if properly maintained is reliable. The niggling element, as users, is the ongoing cost of the system, annual sales visit and peripheral costs. For example, In addition to our ACT installation, We have our own separate Google Nest home network WHICH INCLUDES CAMERAS. Despite this, at each year’s sales visit , we get a pitch for ACT CCTV and door bell cameras. Last year, were persuaded to upgrade from the analogue system to the new digital control panel, (which, to be fair, will eventually become necessary due to analogue switch off). However, whilst the system has become more flexible, we were faced with a capital installation cost of several hundred pounds and now have an ongoing SIM Card subscription. If you are looking for a new system do consider ACT but shop around and don’t just compare initial purchase price look closely at ongoing running costs.

*UPDATE* Today, the Operations Manager at A.C.T. Excel called me. He was polite and well-spoken, taking the time to explain the cause, effect, and steps taken to fix the issue. In short, my Google review prompted an internal company investigation to determine what went wrong. It seems that a recent change in the billing platform resulted in poorly worded emails and letters being sent to customers, regardless of whether they had ever purchased the alarm warranty.The Operations Manager apologised sincerely and assured me that all affected customers are being contacted. I am inclined to trust him.---------------------------------------------Dear Reader, please exercise caution when dealing with this company -specifically the after-sales service.Personally, I find the cost of the alarm system's post-warranty service, at a rate exceeding £500 per annum, to be exorbitant. This amount is not significantly lower than the initial purchase price of the unit, which is why I have always refrained from acquiring it. This morning, I received an invoice via email, amounting to £505 for one year of service inc battery replacements. Without any prior quotation or communication, I am now faced with an unanticipated payment demand and a specified due date. This demand pertains to services that I have never availed myself of.I contacted the company regarding the email and received a response advising me to dismiss it if I am uninterested. However, I am uncertain if they comprehended my concern regarding the deceptive nature of their email, as it should not have been dispatched without my prior consent to a quotation.The email is below; you can draw your own conclusion.----Thanks for working with us. Your bill for INV-XXX is £505.20 is due on 20/10/2023.If you have already paid, then you do not have to take any further action and you can ignore this email.If you have not paid, please do so before 20/10/2023.To pay your bill now visit [https://XXXXXXX/XXXXXX/XXXX/XXXX/]If you have any questions, or would like to arrange alternative payment please don't hesitate to get in touch.RegardsAdvanced Consumer Technology LTD

We've been very happy customers for well over a dozen years.From initial contact with customer service / sales we've always been listened too, to ascertain our needs within our budget, also for service & maintenance contracts too.We started with an alarm system, as technology etc advanced so did our system, we added CCTV in due course following local issues. More recently we added a video door bell camera system too.Throughout our jolly good relationship with ACT Excel we've always received spot on support & service. Minor issues are easily sorted over the phone of via 'remote access' on the odd occasion on-site visits were needed, they are within time, always courteous & polite over the phone & in person too.We know ACT Excel keep our needs & wants to the fore, supporting us with personal visits / consultations as & when required, from routine customer service manager visits to gain feedback, see if our 'current' needs are met, we're 100% happy with service & support.

Andy arrived well on time to fit our video doorbell, checked the system thoroughly and tweaked some other things in our security system to ensure everything was working properly. He took time to explain and help this tech-nonsavvy client to get set up and use the new system. Very impressed.

Bought 2 cameras at a trade fair and were excited to have them installed. Had a few teething problems due to the complexity of our property layout, but the company helped on the phone and then sent out Andy to solve the issues. Andy spent ages making sure everything worked as expected. Can't speak too highly of his work and attitude,

Terrible company with ridiculously poor service. Was a loyal customer for some years and then all of a sudden was informed that the equipment that they supplied would not be serviced any longer due to it becoming obsolete. Then had the cheek to want to charge me a few grand to get it upgraded even though I had a contract with them! Decided to go elsewhere (they didn’t care) and then found out that their unit was still communicating and charging my phone line (they never told me nor would offer any assistance to remove their equipment). Honestly, if you do one thing, choose someone else. This company is terrible and the level of arrogance shown is incredible; if only their service was as high as their arrogance. I appreciate that some may think this review is simply from a disgruntled customer (true) but I am also very fair and balanced when it comes to feedback. Unfortunately nothing positive to say here. Shame on you ACT. Shame on you.

Very pleased to say Andy came on time around 8.30am and checked out and updated our system. When I pointed out a number of problems, we had had with the system he was quick to rectify them. So, he left us with an alarm system we are confident will operate very efficiently until the next service unless something unforeseen occurs.
