The best salon in Edinburgh. Folk is such an incredibly welcoming, inclusive space. The interior is beautiful, as are the souls who work there. My haircut was perfect and I've had so many compliments since I left the salon. All the extras - the coffee, the head massage, the lovely chat when you want it or the peaceful silence when you're feeling a bit more quiet - just makes this place even more special. Run, don't walk for an appointment here.

Nikki has created a wee oasis of complete calm and tranquility in her new salon and I'm so glad I found her. Always a proper consultation before starting each appointment and Nikki is so knowledgeable about all things hair, you always feel you are in safe hands.Folk is not your run of the mill hair salon, it is so much more than that. Give them a follow on Instagram alway good for keeping you up to date with what's going and fab client transformations.

I had what I can confidently say is the best curly haircut with Nikki. Nikki was so confident in understanding my hair and its health, brushed it out dry to then cut it and showed me some great styling tricks. I think the salon’s emphasis on making things easier for people with curls really goes above and beyond, and gives the assurance that this isn’t just a stylist who has bolted on cutting curls, but actually understands the difference between curly and straight hair (as well as the differences between wavy, curly and coily hair!) and has made that a part of the salon’s identity. It’s a lovely space with beautiful colours and gorgeous candles too. Since I’ve had my hair cut I’ve had an insane amount of compliments on my hair, which is testament to Nikki’s skill!

I have been going to Nikki for years because she is the only one who knows how to cut my thick Asian hair. She is a very skilled professional, who knows exactly what I want but most importantly what suits me. This was my first time in her new salon and it was amazing experience! The salon is so beautiful, smells deliciously relaxing and you can also buy plants! I can not recommend her enough.

Folk is a salon like no other I’ve ever been to, welcoming atmosphere, quirky decor, amazing staff and such a friendly place to be. Nikki is absolute Curl Queen, I have been going to her for years and I would never go anywhere else. She’s so knowledgeable on different curls types and textures and I always leave feeling my best! ❤️

What a lovely wee hidden gem of a hairdresser!Nicola spends a lot of time making you feel very special. The head and hand massage are to die for! Definitely her USP!!! Great chat too! My curly locks have never looked so good!!!

The Folk salon is a stunning oasis and Nicola is a master with the scissors! I swear her head massages penetrate your soul. I highly recommend Folk for curly cuts and colour. An absolutely excellent experience every time.
