Camping By The River

What an absolutely delightful camp by the river. A truly wonderful experience with everything you need to hand. A great deal of thought has clearly gone into creating this peaceful piece of heaven. The owners made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

The site owners really put thought into this experience and had provided everything that you could possibly need for a camping trip.The location was amazing, we were right on the riverfront.The beds were extremely comfortable and the tent had a very luxurious feel. The attention to detail throughout was amazing.Overall, we felt very safe and welcome and would definitely stay again!

Really fabulous couple of days away with friends doing exactly what it says on the tin... Camping by the river, in luxury!All the camping kit was provided, including gas cooker & BBQ, lovely spacious tent which was great to all bundle in when it rained.Good, eco friendly facilities and a really comfortable bed for a good night's sleep.Glorious location, away from everything with lots of bird & wildlife spotting.We took our own paddleboards and had fun messing around on the river.Will definitely be back.

A fantastic place to chill. Steve and Ann-Marie are the perfect hosts and have created a little slice of heaven on the Thames. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is spot on for your stay. The bell tents are amazing and so spacious, and a whole world away from our camping holidays when I was a kid. You get your own fire pit and wood to burn as well as a camping stove, a decent BBQ, pots and pans, cutlery, phone charging, tea towels, bedding, coffee tea & sugar - the list goes on. Just bring a towel and food.It's all completely off grid with twinkling solar lights in the trees and a composting toilet, but don't be expecting a grotty shed, the toilet and lovely hot shower make you feel like you're in a fairy glen surrounded by plants and pretty lights.We took our paddle boards and there is a little private beach where we could easily launch. The site is on the back water behind Culham lock so there is hardly any other boat traffic. So peaceful!Once you've been to Camping by the River you'll definitely want to go back.

Was a fantastic gate away, the host have been thinking of everything to make this glamping experience very memorable.i hardly can’t think of anything they could have done better. We had direct access to river, facilities were great, and we had the whole camp site to ourselves ( we rented both tents). We loved the little mini wood burner in the tent , making the tent so warm and cosy. You have to go , it’s a not to miss experience!

This is in an absolutely idyllic location in perfect peace and quiet. A beautiful river for wild swimming with our own little ‘beach’ to get in/sunbath. A true hidden gem. Everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay had been provided (comfortable beds, fridge/crockery/eco shower gel/phone chargers) and all we needed was our food. We made the most of the fire pit and barbecue and absolutely loved the outdoor shower. The owners themselves are delightful and super helpful. Steve even took us on a canal boat ride to Abingdon. Great fun! We all had the best time ever (even the dogs). We’ll be back!

Wonderful little glamping site in a quiet secluded spot on the river. Our family had one tent and our friends and their son had the other tent. Having the whole site to ourselves was brilliant and great value. All the essentials are provided and we had a perfect time swimming, fishing, playing, BBQing, sitting around the campfire and simply relaxing in a beautiful setting. The facilities are spot on. The owners are friendly and helpful without being overbearing. We only live a few miles away but it felt like we were on holiday a million miles away with the added convenience of being so close to home. Kids loved it, dogs loved it, adults loved it. We are already planning our return. Thank you to Stephen and Annemarie for sharing their fantastic site. My daughter has also insisted I mention the Tarzan swing that she had a lot of fun playing on!

Went to England for a weekend to meet up with my sister. We decided to make it a camping trip. As we used to do years ago when she was a child. We booked here and I have to say it was magical. The owners were very helpful. So much so they even sourced local beers. The tent was spotless a so comfortably looking out at the riverside. Beautiful sound of the birds to wake up to in the morning. As for the shower it was lovely and warm and you feel like you were in a magical place surrounded by trees you would stay there for ages. Everything they said was there was on site. So take my hat off to the owner and will see them again

Lovely spot and accommodations. Each site has its own fire pit and bbq which is ideal. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly and go out of their way to ensure guests are taken care of. A great option for both families or couples looking for an affordable getaway.
