I've worked in the motor industry for over 35 years and I'm disgusted with the culture here. Not only did they manufacture faults on three vehicle that was presented for MOT, the also replaced parts that were new. They took advantage of a single female that brought the car in. They misquoted MOT legislation and used scare tactics to sell parts at outrageously inflated rates. This is one of many times this branch have behaved in this manner. I refused to leave until a refund was issued, so the staff called the police. The police stayed until the young lady was refunded.I spoke to the area manager on the phone. His name was Simon. He's an obnoxious man who clearly has an inflated ego. He told me that under no circumstances would a refund be given. He never came to the branch to support his dishonest staff though.Halfords service centre have been reported to the ministry of transport for breaches of the MOT test regulations and also for fraudulent practice.

Had an exhaust pipe break whilst on the way to a weekend break. They fixed it really quickly so we could get on our way. Life savers

I had my MOT done with this Halfords. The mechanics and receptionists are so friendly and they booked my car in quickly and conveniently. The booking process was quick and easy as I booked at reception and then was sent reminders by email. I was also so happy to hear that the car passed the MOT. Would recommend.

We are so grateful to Nathan at Halfords Auto Centre who helped us retrieve my engagement ring which had fallen into a gap underneath the rear passenger seat. He was so helpful!

They did the job but were not very neat in finishing off. There was adhesive left smeared on the tyres and wheels. Didn't look professional when I collected my car. Don't think I will return.

Took my car in for an MOT test. The team were friendly and professional. My MOT passed and it only took about 45 minutes to complete. I am pleased that you offer MOT tests at the weekend, this is convenient for me as I work Monday to Friday. My thanks to the team. See you again soon.

They got the job done.Free MOT just means they will find things other MOT centres usually don't find or would usually over look.Halfords however will find something or nothing that needs attention.My car was serviced 3 weeks prior to my MOT, I was advised there's nothing wrong by the main dealer.Halfords found a next to nothing issue and failed it.Personally I will never use them again.No such thing as Free.

I recommend considering the Halfords membership if having service + MOT; it was cheaper for me to pay a year's membership and use the associated benefits than to not, it includes a free MOT and discounts all other Halfords purchases for the duration of membership.
