They serve a great pint of San Miguel. What had with a very tasty quadzilla burger. And the service was spot on.

My wife and I had our first date at the Highfield in 1988. We had our wedding reception there in 1990 & went there regularly until we had children. Around 10 years ago we decided to pop in. We didn't stay long, didn't have a drink as it turned into just another drinking hole full of school children, aggressive atmosphere & people who couldn't walk without falling over. Mate of mine lives near in lt & it's his local, told me it had changed so we went back on Saturday afternoon on the way to Albert park rock the north east & it was great, quick service, full of families having a good time, great atmosphere. Well done to the landlords.

The staff very friendly and helpful. The food medium good. I don't like frozen chips. The food price is not bad. Very nice place but need a bit better maintenance.

Stayed here for a night after a gig at the Empire and it was the ideal place to stay. Price of the room was excellent - it was clean and spacious and we could hear no noise when trying to sleep. For convenience, we had a meal in the restaurant before heading to see Johnny Marr and found it filling and tasty. Easy to get into Middlesbrough by taxi. Would stay in a Green King hotel again, for sure, and if I ever attend a gig at the Empire in the future this is the first hotel I'll look at. The only quibble was that the pastries included in the continental breakfast were inedible as they were extremely dry and clearly weren't fresh or even freshly out the freezer. Otherwise, a perfect place to stay on a budget.

greene king are pricey with alcohol now but the food deals are great. good choice well cooked. the korean bbq burger is mint

I recommend you order there chips they are so delicious really enjoyed them it's MarKO Talking from BBC Radio Tees And Facebook Radio there was just one member of staff when u go to the bar instead of smiling at you she just looked straight through me as if I wasn't there as if I was a ghost not polite manners

We have stayed here twice now and overall we found it an ok stay, the staff are ok but clearly busy so not really much time to do more than what is required. The food for me was mediocre, We had breakfast once in the bar area and once in the hotel area. Sadly both breakfasts were disappointing especially the eggs and sausages. The sausages were overcooked and my scrambled eggs were inedible they actually made me feel quite a bit queasy.Sleep was not brilliant although I would say the room was immaculately clean and we had all we needed. There was so much door slamming and the walls seem very thin so you can hear conversations from the room next door! I will also add there is a no smoking policy but there was very clearly someone in room 15 smoking cannabis as the corridor stank of it!I hate to leave bad feedback but it was just not that great unfortunately.

Chips, very nice. Chicken, decent. Wooden skewers: A bit splintery but nice nonetheless. Don't recommend eating the onion they put with the skewers.
