Avoid these people at all cost, our family has been on property for 3 month now. We have 2 small children and nothing gets repaired, the shower doesn't work properly the washing machine is draining into buckets among several other issues that affect our daily life unfortunately we still have 9 more month to go.

When things go off without a hitch, it’s often difficult to get a real feel for the individual or organisation providing a service but my move into a property managed by Charters has had more than its fair share of hitches, so I feel qualified to offer comprehensive feedback.Thankfully, Charters have done everything within their control, often going beyond their obligations, to ensure that my family and I are happy and secure in our new home.The proficiency and responsiveness they have demonstrated in the swift and satisfactory resolution to issues, has been unparalleled by any other agency I have experienced in 20 years of renting.We have had the pleasure of dealing with Suzanne and Tracey and I cannot praise them highly enough. It’s incredibly reassuring to know that any maintenance issues we have will be left in their capable hands, the fact that they are both wonderful people is just the cherry on the cake.It’s clear that Charters care deeply about their business but what elevates them from other agencies is, they understand what a vital part of the business their customers and tenants actually are.

We have recently sold our house through Charters. We had a bit of a mixed experience with them (mainly good) but would like to start with the positives which are due to a few individuals there.First of which is Jess, we met her when we started to consider moving, our house wasn’t on the market yet but Jess listened to exactly what we were looking for and we felt we were a genuine priority for her to help us find our next home. She’s a real asset to charters, very honest, reliable and knowledgeable in everything she does. Another who is like to mention and give thanks to was Lisa R, she dealt with us once our house had sold, she too was just very approachable, knowledgeable and understanding of our circumstances which was much appreciated.Charters as a whole we feel just lacks a little bit of team communication. We initially didn’t want a for sale sign, but one was up promptly when we had started the process. In terms of the viewings on our property they were a little hit and miss, we asked for an “open day” style but got told with short notice this wasn’t happening then the viewings were all done by different people who I felt were coming in a little unsure of what they were trying to sell.After a few weeks on the market it was Jess who requested to come round so I could personally show her the house (she ended up selling it) which I just think makes a big difference to the overall selling experience.There were times we were called about one thing but then told another. The last encounter we had was them calling me after completion on the sale to ask when I was dropping the keys in for the new homeowners only to advise them I had done this 3 days prior which was at the request of someone else at charters. Little things like this I think really create a bit of disappointment with them when we chose them (mainly because of Jess) but also as they had a great reputation in the area.Overall Charters are good, just with thanks to some individuals there.

We made the mistake of using SBK estate agents initially. Within 7 weeks we had 6 viewings however, the shining light was charters. We moved to them and had 6 viewings in just 10 days. One of which was an offer and sale. It pays to go with a reputable company such as charters. Don’t hesitate! Big thanks to the staff. Ollie and Ed were professional, friendly and attentive. I used Charters Chandlers Ford during my search for our family home. The team were friendly and helpful, and I never had trouble getting hold of someone. Fred Foey was my main point of contact and was amazing at finding and showing us properties that fit what we were looking. He was always available on the phone whenever I needed him and was super helpful guiding us through our first search. I would be happy to recommend Charters and especially Fred to anyone on the lookout for a new property. Thanks team Charters...keep it up!

***AVOID***I put my house up for sale through charters. They gave a good pitch and said the right words. Within a week an offer was made, a ridiculously low offer but I was advised strongly to take it as the market was so risky. I said I’d only take the offer if the buyers had a mortgage. Again I was advised they have a water tight mortgage they are a serious buyer. So I accepted. I was told to instruct solicitors asap to get the ball rolling, Which I did. Then silence. More silence. Then when I chased up the sale of my house I was told the buyer was arranging a survey don’t worry it’s all going smoothly..so I waited and waited. Then I got a phone call saying that they buyer could not get a mortgage and I was told to sit tight as they were attempting to get a bridging lone. More silence I chased up constantly and was given excuses or passed to different departments until I was told actually the buyer is pulling out as they don’t have the funds. In turn this cost me £1000 in abortive legal fees. There was no apology and the manner I was spoken to was dismissive and rude.Awful firm. Avoid AVOID AVOID

We have recently exchanged our contract and can't thank Charters enough for their service in helping us secure our new home. Oliver was particularly helpful, friendly and patient during a number of viewings until our offer was accepted. Lisa in the progression team is also very informative and always keeps good communications with us. Overall we are very happy with their excellent service and will highly recommend!

Charters were excellent in that they both sold our current house and enabled the buying our a bungalow. At every stage they kept us informed and quickly actioned anything we needed. We were particularly grateful that they handled well the buying of our new property which involved sustained negotiations to complete.
