We have a 1964 Splitscreen. Taken to Andy for the first time for a service and general checkover, also asked Andy to have a look at the gear box as frankly it's always been a bit hit and miss finding a gear. Service all done, a fuel leak identified and fixed (!) and a staggering improvement in the gearbox - totally transformational, changes gear perfectly. So I can't recommend Andy highly enough, he really knows his stuff.Still cant quite believe the improvement in the gearboxOh... and fire suppression system also now fitted by Andy (just in case)Alex

Fantastic service. We are so pleased to have found a genuine, honest VW specialist. Our new engine sounds like it should instead of a bag of spanners. Our gear change is far more fluid and for the first time in 8 years have heating. Andy also gave sound advice on other issues but we were never pressurised. We completely trust VW Engineering. Thank goodness we have found them after being ripped off in the past by other so called specialists. Thank Andy the team we will be back.

What a great little place! I wish I had known they were there 18 months ago. I called Andy as I had a brake issue on my Beetle and he was happy to take a look. I dropped it off and it was sorted quickly but then he mentioned the car wasn't running very well when he took it on the test drive. I had the engine replaced with a 1641cc unit last year as the one I bought it with was junk. I was also told by the garage that the carbs that are on it are also junk (twin Weber 34 ICT's) and need to be replaced with 40IDF's. Andy said he doesn't agree with that and asked if he could take a look at the jets and I was happy for him to. He said they weren't jetted correctly and went ahead with setting them up.. The result is amazing. I'm very impressed. I can take the £1200 40IDF's off my wish list now.. I don't need them. I just need someone who knows what they're doing and Andy is that man. I will be be back to see Andy again. Whenever I need something on my bug he will be the 1st person I call. Thanks so much.

I have used Andy for all servicing and repairs on my beetle for a number of years and have never been disappointed. Honest, reliable and I really like getting the photos and videos of the repairs. Highly recommend.

I contacted VW Engineering a few years back to obtain a quote on some work on my 1970 T2, Andy arranged for me to go down and meet with him, he explained everything that was required to do the restoration on my bus and explained how the costings would work.He kept me fully informed of the progress and when we were approaching my budget cap and the finished result was outstandingly excellent.Since the restoration, I have only ever used Andy at VW Engineering, for servicing, maintenance, MOT and even arranging storage over the winter months.I cannot recommend VW Engineering highly enough, it is a refreshing change to see someone honest, knowledgable, passionate and excelling at customer service in the VW world. I recently had to find a new place to take my campervan - always a worry when there's some less than good 'specialists' out there. I needn't have worried - first impressions of Andy at VW Engineering are very positive. An increasingly free-flowing oil leak had previously been diagnosed as the crankshaft main seal to the clutch but turned out to be from the oil cooler which clearly had never been fitted properly in the first place. I now have a leak-free engine for the first time and can park-up without a guilty conscience or rushing for a bit of absorbent cardboard. Excellent, friendly, straight-forward & fair-priced service - I'm sure I'll be back!

We took our 1978 VW Camper van in to Andy and he took great care to deliver a great service and the work carried out was done to an impeccable standard.Being relatively new owners we were very cautious on where to take our vintage van and highly recommend VW Engineering to all other owners.

Excellent, efficient and at the right price. I have just returned from a 3500 mile trip around Europe in my 1977 T2. The gears had pretty much given up and 3 garages told me it was the gear box which would cost circa £1500 to fix. Andy over ruled them insisting it was the gear linkage which he renovated for £200 including parts and labour. He also pointed out a few other minor bits which he fixed at the same time. The gears are as good as new now. Really friendly and professional service.
