Ben Jones Plumbing & Heating

From the first time we met Ben in early March 2020 we liked his approach and attitude, more importantly for us, he was a genuine all round nice guy.We had a difficult task for him in a Barn Conversion in Low Catton outside of York. We asked Ben to quote for a full LPG central heating system inc a combi boiler and 8 old school radiators including one extremely heavy one in cast iron.The thing that made this job extra difficult was that due to solid floors and walls Ben was required to run all the pipes through the loft and then bring the pipes down whilst at the same time making that look in fitting with an old property. With one of the radiators this meant placing the pipework behind a full set of kitchen units including a fridge, cooker and a washing machine, not easy.From the initial quote to finishing the job at the end of May 2020 Ben was always on time, polite friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Ben spent 6 full days on the fitting working (sometimes odd days here and there) around ourselves arranging for the LPG tank being installed and our local Builder removing a brick wall in the loft and strengthening 2 internal stud walls not strong enough for heavy radiators.Bens price for the work was extremely competitive and we are so glad Ben did the job for us.We would highly recommend Ben for all your plumbing requirements. You will not be disappointed.

I arrived home to a gas leak, Ben was recommended to me by another (not gas safe) plumber. Ben answered his phone promptly, I explained the leak and that emergency gas people had capped off at meter and condemned until repaired. He arrived within 30 mins, located the leak and fixed it all within 1 hr of the initial call. He was reassuring during my panic, very pleasant, personable and exceptionally good in relation to price. He also cleaned up after having to cut through plasterboard to reach the leak. I will not hesitate in using Ben again or in recommending him to others.

We have used Ben a few times now to replace a new tank, move a radiator, and he services our boiler yearly now.He is really good , efficient, and very trustworthy.I will always suggest Ben to other people .

We were struggling to find a plumber during a busy period but Ben managed to fit us in. He's very friendly, easy to work with and will suggest ideas to suit your needs. We had an unvented cylinder fitted and complete re plumb of the heating system with new radiators installed throughout the whole house, modernising a very old system. I would highly recommend Ben for any job small or large, always clean and tidy and the final finish is of a high standard.

Totally unreliable!!Had to wait a month for an appointment only for him to cancel on the day.Said he had an emergency" and would get back to me in a couple of days. Three weeks later he still hasn't called back!!"

Just when I thought Christmas was all done and dusted it appeared there was one last present for the family, the boiler packed in. Not the ideal start to the year. I called every local plumber I could find the number for but the prices and lead time would leave us in the cold for most of winter. I happened to stumble across Bens Facebook page and within a few hours he called by to give me a quote. I just couldn’t turn down the great price and he agreed to start as soon as the boiler arrived. Ben actually returned the following Sunday so he could fit us in to his busy schedule and returned Monday morning to finish things off. In this time not only did he replace my boiler he changed 12 radiator valves and gave the entire system a clean. The radiator output has gone through the roof and we have saved a ton of space in the boiler room. Hats off to Ben he did a great job, in such a small amount of time, at short notice and a great price. Would highly recommend!!!

Ben carried out a much-needed upgrade of a water tank at my property in York before it was rented out last October. He was punctual, provided clarity on what needed to be done and got on with it with minimum fuss. I'm really pleased with the outcome, and couldn't recommend him highly enough. A job well done and no more tank worries!

Ben has done a couple of jobs for us in our new build and we cannot fault the quality of his work and responsiveness. We’ve had a gas oven capped off (in readiness for an induction hob) and a new kitchen sink installed which has transformed the kitchen. Ben even took away the old sink for disposal leaving no mess behind. Would absolutely recommend him and his company 10/10
