A real gem in the heart of Islington. There aren’t many high street butchers left these days and this one is just absolutely brilliant. Excellent quality, great prices and lovely service. This is how buying meat should be - forgot the nonsense plastic packaging from the supermarket. Look what’s fresh, get it cut and prepared for what you want!

The meat is such good quality and very affordable. Ray is amazing at what he does and very approachable and accommodating. I would 100000% recommend using this butchers

Had terrible experience buying beef fillet from the The Butchers".I've ordered "very special" beef fillet which I've been promised to be "top quality" and cost £35kg. I’ve ordered almost 1kg.To my mistake I didn't check the meet as it was wrapped quickly inside the plastic bag given to me.Just upon an arrival home I've realised that something is not right with this meat

One of the very rare traditional British butchers still going in N/London. Was a pleasant surprise see this shop still open after my 1st visit back to the area in over 15 years. What a great treat to get my pork chops cut from a market fresh whole loin of pork as I waited & they were absolutely beautiful when cooked.The owner ( Ray ) was a smashing guy to talk to and not seemed to have aged a day since I was a young man and my mum shopped there every Saturday. The TBone steaks at half the price I pay normally just reminded me of one of the drawbacks to moving outside the M25. It will be a dark day when all these hard working British butchers like Ray are gone.

One of the best, most honest butchers around. Always great quality meat at really reasonable prices. Old school service - need a turkey deboned? Easy. Need something special done to your meats? No problem. Ray is great and since moving well out of Islington we are completely unable to find a butcher anywhere near as good. Give it a go.

Very tasty sirloin steak. The sausages are so tasty and succulent. Always stop by to pick up some fresh cuts when in the area. Ray and his family provide an excellent service. Very knowledgeable and such great produce to include the seasoning tubs which have great flavour. Would recommend giving this place a visit. Really good value considering the high quality meat.

All meats pre-packed in plastic and styrofoam? That's not how butchers do it at all! It's pre-packed so you don't realise how poor the quality is. I got chicken and pork mince here and both meats stank when I took them out from the packaging a few hours later. Horrible smell! What a disappointment!I wouldn't come here again nor recommend it. Not even for the price. Most good reviews here are a year old or more (or some people just don't know fresh meat). It might have been good then, but it's all pre-packed horrendous now.

Amazing friendly family business and their produce is fantastic. I have been purchasing meat from here for quite a while and I definitely would recommend their BBQ flavoured sausages they are top notch and the best bangers I’ve ever tasted. Even my toddler can’t get enough of them and she is so fussy. Fantastic to also see a business that is not ripping people off with their prices during this pandemic, great quality meat and great value for money. Would definitely recommend a trip to this butchers. 5* throughout.
