Old Buckenham Hall

I remember quite vividly my stay at OBH which I joined in 1949 at the age of four. I also remember that one wing of the school had caught fire and was burned down. Our dormitory was destroyed and the experience was quite traumatic specially when the firemen rolled me up in a blanket and threw me out of the window onto the snow below. I remember Mrs Peacock our music teacher who while playing the piano would go into a feinting spell. Our headmaster was a war veteran called captain Sewell who had one wooden leg. Too many moments to recall.

In the 1980s the music teacher Mr Wynnes and an English teacher Mr John Hill beat me quite badly for not want to learn the flute and poor grammar. I can't find any reference to them on the internet so i assume they are both dead. Wooohoo !!! Good riddance!! Also ... one other teacher in the 80s, (who'll remain nameless), would watch the boys showering everyday after playing sport with a massive erection bulging out of his shorts. Madness, how some people are allowed to be teachers is beyond me.

Not very good memories of this place. Early 50s a feared place to be be taught.
