Almondbury Surgery

Can't remember the last time I actually got to see a doctor as most of the time it's by telephone appointments now, every time you do get to speak with receptionist all they do is try get you off the phone as soon as possible with the same thing ever time about go on Google and put in surgery to do E-consult online and will contact you in 24-48hrs.It's gotten that bad at the surgery that I've had to goto A&E in the past month 3times and one of which ended up in me having a operation because I wasn't seen in enough time. The one strive given is only for the two nurses that are wonderful otherwise it would of been no stars at all

When calling at 0800hrs to request an appointment, no matter what number l am in the queue, l have never been fobbed off with an excuse! There are very capable practice nurses, various other specialist (multi-trained) nurses. All backing up the doctors who still do ‘face to face’ telephone appointments which may lead to a ‘face to face’ doctors appointment.The telephone staff are all friendly and will do anything they can to help you achieve the services you are in need of.The interior of the premises is general in ‘good nick’, this is let down however by the exterior grounds, poor parking area (big depression in the middle) and (handicapped parking area full of dead leaves etc) plus some building faults like an overflowing gutter close to the patients entrance doors.I have always received 1st class treatment here and would not hesitate to recommend this surgery as l believe it is easily better than other local surgeries in the area. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely abismal. Outdated long winded introductory message difficulty in getting an appointment and rude staff

long winded and outdated phone message. The surgery isn't as busy as they make out. Went in the other day, i was the only patient there, as i was leaving i saw 1 man seated in the waiting room. There seemed to be a lot of staff, receptionists/ nurses hanging around doing nothing much.

Used to be a great practise but impossible now to get an appointment. Ringing at 8am for days only to be told number 30 in the queue and then informed no appointments available.Other surgeries are operating as before covid so why not Almondbury? The surgery inside is like a ghost town.

The older lady on reception is absolutely horrible to speak to. Such a bad attitude to be honest most staff are very unhelpful and don’t seem to know what they’re talking about. Refusing to let me know what medication I was taking last to be able to get a repeat prescription. I was heavily pregnant getting very stressed out ringing back and forth because they wouldn’t send my prescription to the chemist for me. I even had the chemist staff call on my behalf as I was so upset and vulnerable. Very poor service all round

Impossible to get an appointment calling at 8AM on the dot, even with a referral from 111. Online service not available. Still accepting new patients. This is a GP Surgery for profit, not health. If you have travel to a whole other town for basic services it says the service here has failed.

Website doesn't work and neither does the phone line. Just says call cannot be completed and hangs up. I'd switch surgeries but I'm pretty sure you have to contact them in some way in order to do that which is evidently impossible with this surgery. Booked a day off work to get an appointment, wasted a days wages. Thanks.

I don’t even want to give one star. But it’s the only way I can submit a review.My father passed away last week and was let down again and again by the disgraceful service at this practice. Donaldsons Vets would have looked after my father better. Time and time again he was ignored, tests not followed up, phone calls not answered.

I've been with the practice for over 10 years and is just unbelievable what is happening lately. I've been trying to get an appointment for my daughter for months now, and after waiting on the phone on average for about 45 min the answer is always the same, no appointments left, call back tomorrow. That's just fine, I have nothing better to do just to stay on the line. It seems to me that unless you are dying you won't get an appointment. I am very angry and disappointed. If you continue like this I am not sure how many patients you will have left.I have never encountered anything worse. People cannot get an appointment when the first signs of an illness appear...because it is not an emergency. No prevention, no early help....very disappointed. I will be leaving the practice.
